This painting reminds me of Daganoweda, an Iroquois who dreamed of a federation of independent tribes shortly before the Europeans arrived and adopted the idea.

I would be most happy to obtain a print of this painting.

This is gorgeous. I love the simple colors and the
details are fantastic (even if some was lost with the
picture, it still looks great). I wish life could still be that simple, it's all so complicated now.

Beautiful work of art...

The native way of living...... the simple life.

Too bad we lost it with the high tech complex stress filled life in 21st century...

The way you painted the water is marvelous!

But I think there's sth wrong with the reins: look at the horse - there should be two strings coming out of its muzzle, shouldn't they?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

wolfman007 In reply to Brzcu [2006-11-17 14:35:08 +0000 UTC]

thanks, interesting that you notice rein.
actualy, alot of plains indians used a single rein, I know it doesnt seem logical, but its true.,
they used their knees and weight more then the rein.

Julie-tibby-tat [2006-11-04 15:43:17 +0000 UTC]

Wow! This is incredible! Every detail of it!
Our computer is on its own cell phone connection, because where we live there is no regular phone service. But being a computer cell phone makes opening a single page extremely slow. For once I actually enjoyed that slowness, as I watched your picture form from the top to the bottom, watching the beautiful sky slowl appear in front of me, the tops of the t-pees, the man's face, the hills and the horses, his own special horse, the water and the reflections in the water.

I wish that I could see the original painting. I know that any copy of my own work is a real disappointment to me, because so much detail is lost, so I know that what I am seeing is only a fraction of the original. I am certain that this is one painting I would spend hours staring at!

Wonderful work!

Thanks again. its good to read when someone noticed things i was trying to portray.
Actually , this photo turned out pretty good, and thats rare indeed. But still it looses alot of the brushwork and texture.
