For my first trick...

You're gonna see this guy a lot... Axel is one of the two main characters in my comic project. This was my first attempt at coloring in Photoshop, and I mostly liked how it turned out.

Fun facts about this piece:
- Axel's left thigh is way longer than the right. I made it all the way to finishing this thing, and then I realized it. I could fix it, but I have this nasty habit of not touching something EVER AGAIN once it's finished.
- Axel has no right arm. In the original image, I drew his shoulder and torso, and superimposed the gun hand over it.
- The revolver, Osiris, has eight chambers and two barrels. It was initially hand-drawn in the first pencil draft, but it looked way sloppy when I scanned it so I decided not to bugger with it and I vectored another one. The original drawn revolver also showed the rifling inside the barrels. I copped out of vectoring it by adding the glare to hide it.
- Again, due to my laziness and refusal to work on anything after I've "finished" it, Axel's sawed-off shotgun has no sheen or shadows (except on the riflebutt).
- Ironically, once I finished this image I gave Axel's costume a redesign. Therefore, among people I know, the favorite image (this one) is now an inaccurate representation of how he looks.
- The background is a photo I took while on a bus in London. I liked it because it was blurry and it'd look great with a moving figure over it. Once I superimposed Axel, it wasn't blurry ENOUGH, so I gave it even more motion blur to give the illusion that Axel's running VERY fast.
