Description Remember this from [link] ? Well, I had so much fun with those Mastermage drawings that I wanted to do more of that kind of intense shading. Because I work almost exclusively with pencils and almost exclusively create lineart, I've been wanting to explore the use of light more and more.

In this, I was experimenting with two different light sources... the moon, and the fire. It was fun getting all those shadows in. I like the contrast of the cool, moody moonlight and the intense, garish firelight. There's no story to go with this, but I figured his pose, standing over the fire, looked like he was challenging someone. Ergo, the title.

And, y'know, I decided I'd also like to have a background for once. It's vaguely-defined at best, but it looks to be woodsy or something. Much of it was done as afterthoughts, like the shooting star and the shadow of Mike's staff hitting the tree (?).

Still, I like it.

wow! looks great, I'm still really liking your use of the fire, and the contrast between the two light sources came out great.

the background looks good, any background is better than none, it completes the pic.
