Hallucination (n): False or distorted perception of objects or events with a compelling sense of their reality; a sensory experience of something that does not exist outside the mind.

A frighteningly large word for a child of six to know; but Ienzo repeated it over and over in his head as the heart floated in front of him. It's got to be chemical overexposure. What else could explain the sight of a crystalline organ that defied gravity? It was difficult to inspect it with any great detail, though he desperately wanted to; it was floating just slightly higher than he could extend his arm.

Oh, but he had to reach it, had to research it! What made it float like that? It shone with some inner light- where did that come from? How did it work?

He was about to resort to manual labor (dragging one of Even's larger chairs over to bridge the height gap, really! The things he was willing to do for science...) when a voice rang out behind him.

"Do look after this carefully. I would hate to see anything happen to it."

And all that Ienzo saw before he awoke was his own face- but... older? Paler? He couldn't tell. The purple mass the man was standing in swallowed him up the next second- and then there was darkness.

Ienzo asked to join Ansem's study of Hearts a scant two days later, dream entirely forgotten.

If you didn't get it (which I wouldn't doubt, my writing sucks), Ienzo is having a dream and writing his subconscious off as a chemical-induced vision. Or is it a premonition?

One word- Catharsis.

It's a wonderful thing.

No idea where this came from, other than frustration and exhaustion.
