Description
I wanted to draw these guys again before Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire come out (tonight, WOOH MIDNIGHT LAUNCH).Honestly, I much prefer these designs. Especially Sapphire/May/Haruka's, because here she's not so stereotypically female with bows and frills and crap. Damn it Nintendo. Please stop.
I was looking at Pokemon fanart of the human characters and a lot of the time it was the girl character hanging off the arm of the guy, or there looking pretty, or useless, or all of the above and it pissed me off (not always of course, but certainly a lot of the ones I happened to come across). So here's one picture going against all those.
Let's try to stop reinforcing gender roles shall we? That'd be nice. Thanks.

Well, Spe!Ruby and Spe!Sapphire are pretty much the definition of Sensitive Guy and Tomboy.

And they're both badass too, in their own ways. Ruby Might be a fruitcake, but this is one fruitcake y'all do not wanna fuck with!

Yeh, fair enough, I can like them too. I'm just saying that they make up an overwhelming majority of females presented in media like Pokemon, when not all females are like this. So it's just annoying that companies like Nintendo seem to fail to realise that not all females like pink, and frills and bows. Sure some do. But not all. So it reduces the gender to stereotypes and reinforces that image into society which can be quite damaging. And I feel like Nintendo is really going backwards in this respect which is really quite saddening.
It works for guys as well, of course. They get shit as well. :/ The whole, be manly, don’t let your emotions show crap. I really don't like these restrictive ideas that are so common in our society...
Lol. Sorry, kind of a massive tangent. Haha.
Thank you!

It's all good. I've just never understood why people like to 'make a stand' against how the media likes to portray people and things XD because (believe it or not) when imaginary things like commercials and games take root they don't need to try and project reality. If they want all their girls to be mind-dumb and there men to be emotionally crippled, let them. As long as people are educated enough they'll realize that what their seeing isn't attempting to be remotely real : - P

Ah ok. Well fair enough. I don't agree, I think people do need to stand up for this stuff, but that's ok.
We can think differently.
