When I heard my childhood hero and fav ranger had passed I wanted to draw something.
I knew it was gonna be a hybrid of his green and white ranger costumes but I threw in small details like the gold ring around her neck from Turbo and the main suit piping from Zeo. As well as adding some elements from his Dino thunder turn by changing the logo on his dragon shield with the one from Dino Thunder. I altered the the dragon and white tiger shield to be more of a chest plate with shoulder armor like he wore in Dino Thunder, but placed the classic dragon shield logo on them. I took his 2 iconic weapons and combining them into a hybrid that was a challenge but I think they came out well. Added the master morphed seen in Jason David Frank’s last one screen appearance of the character on the 25 yr anniversary special and a hybrid coin seemed fitting. Also added a few elements from the resign green ranger costume as seen in the ‘bat in the Sun’ fight videos which JDF apprised his Tommy character.
