Description
This is a combination of the 80's and the 20's-30's when aviation was the thing...though it ends up being more 20's-30's than 80'sColored pencils on computer paper!

Awesome! Has a very...graphic feel that fits the style of the character, what with the shapes surrounding her.

Nice design work on the right--those simple clean lines balance the composition well without detracting from the lady. Not sure about the fly on her pants--seems kind of a guy thing?

Thanks! I think I should have used a ruler for the straight edges...but anyway... As for the fly That navy 'cracker jack' style was adapted heavily in the 1920's when women's dress took on more masculine designs, especially because of the war and the 'boy figure' that was popular... It was also the beging of the bell-bottom look (especially for beach wear), bellbottoms didn't originate in the 70's

To me, using a ruler in a drawing somehow feels like cheating. You said I know about a lot of stuff--well, fashion ain't one of them But I can see you did your homework!

Uh oh! Well, I did use impromtu templates for the circles
Fashion (historical and modern) has been an obsession since I was 11 years old, and I have a ton of books on the subject... I guess you don't like masculine clothes on women, but I though Angelina Jolie looked pretty good in Sky Captain! I want an eye patch now! (to go with my grandpa's Naval Cracker jack uniform that he gave me..I like to wear it once in a while!)

I use circle templates every once in a while for irises and pupils, but most of the time I'm drawing eyes at an angle, so those features are ellipses then.
Angelina Jolie would look good in a clown suit--and even better out of one But I digress....
