Description In the forest, by the pond, that's where I love to go
To hear the loon call, gleefully, that madness that I love
Feathers white, feathers black, and eyeballs flaming red
Howl and laugh through all my dreams, sleeping on my bed
Let me be a loon, I pray, with madness keen with joy
With wild laughter and breaking screams, Nature's favorite toy
Give me the night with the full, full moon, and the stars so glaring bright
Let me cry with heart-felt sobs, and laugh madly with delight
Give others the garish unfeeling day, beloved I know not why
I'll take the night, with passion's rush, and every kind of sigh
Some are doves, and thus are meek; some are falcons swift
Some are turkey's fat and brown, or eagles with fierceness' gift
But let me be a loon, I beg! With madness in me bred
With feathers white, and feathers black, and eyes of flaming red.

I love loons they are so pretty and nothing can compare to the sound of a loon's call echoing across the crisp night air of a full moon's night.
