Description
I may not be wealthy, healthy or wiseI certainly lack mysterious eyes
My adventures are found within my books
but friends attend whenever I cook.
I have no great lovers of passion so bold
Fires of romance left me chilly and cold
I'm not a siren or a femme fatale
but with imagination, oh the stories I tell!
So while time strolls idly by
with seasons to laugh and seasons to cry
from now until the day I am dead
The biggest adventures will be in my head

what would you recommend? Rereading it, I'm not so pleased with it myself, truth be told.

I'd try to maintain the theme of the values twist that you've got going in the first two stanzas. This poem seeks to subvert and subject the dazzling to the enduring. It has this contrast between glamour and hospitality (that great and quiet art), hinting that perhaps, the cost of thrill-seeking is rather too high. "Baby, you're a firework," Ms. Perry declares, but I would rather be a hearth-fire, myself.
I don't know if that's helpful - really all I've said is what *I* like about, and read into, your poem, and you may have been intending to go a different direction with it.

This must be that awesome moment when the reader finds something the author didn't know existed in her work.... Honestly, I was spoofing around in a mood and got grumpy at the end. Pretty cool to learn what you saw in it!
