Description
3/29/12: I looked at this today and ALL the black Prismacolor in the background is horrible oxidized. I absolutely hate it when it does that. Does anyone have a recommendation for how to prevent that without applying a finish to the entire piece?3/27/12: So...how many of ya'll noticed his nipple rings first? I've gotten two first responses from people looking at this:
That's amazing!
and
Why did you give him nipple rings?
It's just sad. Anyway, this is a WIP of a Prismacolor colored pencil drawing that I have been working on for about a month. It sat untouched for two weeks until I picked it back up last night and started the background. I'm nervous about starting the equipment all over the floor but it won't go anywhere if I don't do anything.
The idea behind the piece is Michelangelo's David/Frankenstein's monster. Nexus, the character pictured, is my masterpiece, as David was to Michelangelo, and I adore the idea of him much like Dr. Frankenstein and his monster, but to a [much] lesser degree of obsession. Nexus is partially carved to show that he is indeed a statue but the assorted horror-esque medical equipment in the background is meant to imply that he is not simply a statue.
Size: approx. 18" x 24"
