Description

It has been five days since Zhyarra Wyrmheart saw any sign of life in this forsaken land. No rabbit, no deer, no squirrels.

She passed the last tree four days ago. Two days past, she lost her footing on a patch of ice beneath the thick snow and ended up falling down a steep hill, losing her heavy cloak and her backpack in the process. The last of her food and water was lost with them.

Thankfully, her companion, the fenris wolf she raised from a pup 12 years ago, generates considerable amounts of body heat and is willing to share it, or she would surely have frozen solid these last two nights. He does not generate food however, and she knows she will not be long in this world subsisting solely on the clumps of snow she has been eating.

As she rounded a bend in the pass, the heavy snowfall lessened just enough for her to see what appeared to be a structure up ahead. She decided to investigate. What harm could it do..?
