Description
A quick and very basic tutorial on how to bring a little depth to flat looking renders.________
Question: Why don't you just use the dodge/burn tools?
Answer: I'm not a fan of the dodge tool because I find that on very large pieces it can leave a sort of boxy shape. Also, if you use this method and create layers you can move them around if it's not in the exact right place, and you can change the hue and saturation if you need colored highlights, and you can mess around with the opacity if you decide later that it's a little too heavy or light.

Nicely done. I use a similar method, though for brightening up the eyes I use a specular light in the render.

Hehe, I'm waiting to hear back from someone about a WIP of their commission, and I hate juggling projects but I felt like doing something so this was the result.

Haha. If you look at the timestamp on my computer it was 1am. That's the only way I'm managing to get ANYTHING done- for the time between 11-5 when he sleeps straight!
