Atypical as in... not a generic shot of the bird staring picture perfect at my lens

This red cardinal visited me every day in the summertime to perch on the fence in our yard. I have so many shots of him posing perfectly, but those are pictures I can find anywhere. This one I chose as my favorite for it shows the bird's jitteriness. He hopped and chirped at me while showing off his daily catch before retiring to the hungry nestlings in our pines.

I chose black and white for this photo because of the washed out background. I was still getting used to my camera and the grass/ yard in the background looked strange and acted as a painful backdrop to his pink-red feathers. The black and white gives him a proper outline and a more studious look at his tufted plumage.

Plus, it looks like he is going somewhere
