Description Chapter 3

Bob was safely perched on Myrnin’s shoulder. He wasn’t exactly thrilled that Toph flung him across the room and tried to squash him.
“That was uncalled for.”
“No, putting a SPIDER in my hand was uncalled for you nutty, stupid, tall, weird-“
Rein put her hand over Toph’s mouth. “Girly much?”
“Shut up!”
“Oh,” Myrnin said. “Would you mind fixing that monstrosity before we leave,” he pointed at the rock she made.
Rein turned to Myrnin and sighed a little. “So, I take it you’re joining us?”
Myrnin stood tall and said, “Why would I pass an opportunity to have some fine dining and also meet intelligence. Not to mention a nice adventure.”
Toph, recovering from her freak out, said, “So, now we need a door and a key.”
“A door?”
“Seriously, Myrnin? She explained this twice now.”
He gave her a glare, and then said, “There are two doors here. It should make this easy for us.
“They’re both empty,” Toph said.
“Then I’ll assume it’s the entrance,” Rein said, and noticed that Toph would really come in handy with the doors. “Now we need a key.”
Myrnin opened a drawer and held a pile of what looked like 400 keys.
“Oh, lovely,” Rein said and held her head. “This’ll take hours.”
“Maybe now,” Toph said. “Are any of those keys new?”
Myrnin thought it over then smiled. “Ah, yes!” He dropped the keys and darted for the other room again. He returned with a key. He gave it to Rein. It was made of hard clay and had a strange shape at the end. It was round with a demented smiley face.
She shrugged and walked to the door.

Oh, it was THIS door.
This beautiful door made Rein almost cry from joy.
It was in the shape of a Pumpkin.

“Boys and girls of every age
Wouldn't you like to see something strange?

Come with us and you will see
This our town of Halloween”

“What’s this,” Myrnin pondered.

“This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright
It's our town, everybody scream
In this town of Halloween”

“This place is so…” Toph stood awkwardly figiting.
“I am the one hiding under your bed
Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red

I am the one hiding under yours stairs
Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair

This is Halloween, this is Halloween

Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song”

“Perfect,” Rein finished. She grinned from ear to ear. She had just stepped into Halloween Town. She looked back at the others. Toph was a little zombie girl. Her eyes were gone and she was in a shredded dress. She was actually really adorable in a demented way…
As for Myrnin, he was dressed like the typical vampire in Halloween Town, and he was very displeased.
“Where are my cloths?! This is an abomination!”
“Considering your normal outfits, I’d say you could deal. Besides, it’s temporary.” Rein looked down at herself. She realized she was transparent. “Am I a ghost?”
Myrnin studied her, then said, “You are.”
She wasn’t walking now, but floating… It was amazing to her. She looked around and noticed they were in the graveyard. The iconic spiral hill stood in the moonlight and a figure was perched upon it.
She looked back at the other two then said, “Can you guys stay here without clawing each others’ eyes out for five minutes?”
Myrnin looked at Toph. “Now THAT was uncalled for.”
Rein took that as a yes and walked (Well, floated) to the Spiral Hill. The figure wasn’t paying any attention and picked away at the flower in her hands.
“Isn’t that redundant now?”
She whirled around and stared down at Rein. “Oh,” Sally said nervously. “Hello.”
“May I join you?”
Sally looked around then said, “Well, I don’t see why not.”
She glided next to her and sat. “I’m Rein… I know all about you.“ She smiled. “You’re pretty awesome, you know?”
Sally smiled shyly and looked at her flower. “I’m not, really.”
“Well,” She said happily, “Anytime I ever feel like I’m not able to get what I want, I think of you and Jack.”
She looked up at his name. “Where are you from?”
“A place far from here… My friends down there are too.” She shrugged. “I’ve always wanted to talk to you…”
In the distance, they heard sheers and screams. Sally put the flower down. “Would you like to meet Jack? He just came back from Christmas Town.” She stood up clumsily. “He would love to meet you and your friends.”
Rein then heard Myrnin shout as he was shoved over a gravestone. “Maybe not my friends,” she said only half joking.

The town was buzzing with Jack’s return. Corpse Kid hung on his leg and the Mayor’s head spun back and fourth with his bipolar emotions. The Werewolf howled and chest bumped the Clown with the Tear-Away Face and the Hanging Tree’s Hanging Men clapped and cheer the Pumpkin King’s safe return.
It was no wonder why Sally was sitting alone for his return.
Rein was really happy to be transparent right now, because things were flying, whether it was confetti or a severed head, and crashing into things.
Toph made a barrier of earth and Myrnin stood back silently observing. She wondered where his bad mood went.

Rein took a moment and let the town’s people’s energy die down. Jack noticed Sally and got a questionable look on his face.
It was unusual for Sally to be in such an enthusiastic cloud.
He smiled at her and she smiled back. There was a mental conversation there and all Rein could do was sit back and observe it, sighing longingly. She stood (hovered, whatever.) next to Myrnin.
“I want a love story like Jack and Sally.”
He looked at her smiling. “I’m so glad you didn’t suggest wanting a Romeo and Juliet romance. That ends in suicide and tragedy of a three day ‘love’, or so they call it.”
She nodded. “Girls who say that are whore on Facebook posting duck-face pictures.”
“I beg your pardon?”
She shushed him when Jack started merging away from the crowd. They were so distracted with the excitement of his return that they literally forgot about his presence. They had some serious ADD, but it always worked to Jack’s advantage when he needed an escape.
He got to them, standing so tall and a little shy to his people, and he quietly gestured for them to head away from the street and towards the Pumpkin Patch. He took Sally’s hand and noticing the town’s newcomers, he kindly invited them along.

They arrived and Jack sighed in relief.
“How was your trip,” Sally asked.”
“Not so great,” he said sadly. “Sandy-I mean- Mr. Clause is still a little sensitive from last year. I suppose I have some making up to do.”
“Don’t worry,” Sally whistled and Zero the ghost dog flew from the ground and twirled around their legs. “He’ll come around. I’m sure he appreciates the extra help you’ve given too.”
Jack shrugged a little and shook it off. It was a problem for another day now. “And how about you,” he gestured to Rein, Toph, and Myrnin. “I don’t believe we’ve met.”
Rein took the liberty of introducing them and explaining a little about where they were from. The conversation seemed to take Jack’s mind off of his trip, and it even fascinated him.
Zero floated up to Rein and she knelt down to pet him. She wondered if she was the only one who could since she was a ghost right now. She looked up at Jack Skellington, her childhood hero, and said, “I’d like to invite you to dinner.”
He put a bony finger his chest. “Me? Well, what’s the occasion?”
That was actually a great question. “It seemed like a great opportunity to bring great people together for a nice meal.”
He looked back at Sally, who smiled kindly. As if given permission, he nodded. “I would be pleased to.”
This convincing thing was too easy. She was afraid that wouldn’t last too long, but that was a problem for later.

Then came the door and key subject.

“I really hate looking for these things,” Toph groaned.
