Alligatorgrin x Ridgeback Plot Litter

Ridgeback wouldn't be soon to forget a thing...
Up for tryouts today are two of the three kittens in the plot litter of Alligatorgrin and Ridgeback , two ShadowClan warriors who grew up alongside one another as childhood best friends. The typical jock and cheerleader couple... if the jock was a raging barbarian and the cheerleader owned several switch blades, but one could digress. Bubbly, obnoxiously head over heels, and kind the two had a sweetheart romance that blossomed slowly over time. If only it hadn't been complicated by Gates' deep set indoctrination at the paws of his mother and brother, the rebel Pythonsmirk, leading he himself to be part of the rebels that overtook ShadowClan as it was. Still, Rid tried to keep their heart in the game, tried to tell themself they could be their own family own day far from his. Perhaps that was why when he proposed they'd said yes, donning the necklace with such warmth.
Some good things aren't made to last however... in the end it was a simple patrol in which it'd all come undone. The pacifistic outsider Hyzenthlay in an effort to help came across the rebel dominated patrol at the worst of times, Ridgeback taking a blow from Alligatorgrin meant for Hyz to save the other dame's life and mutilating their love in an effort to save the stranger. Hyz, with the heroic sacrifice of Rid's uncle Blackstag, was able to carry them away throwing away her own life to save the young warriors. Discovered by her sister who refused to give up on them Rid was carried back mortally wounded to ThunderClan camp only for the worst to be discovered during a physical assessment... they were pregnant, and there was no doubt they were Alligatorgrin's. Lichenkit and Raptorkit of their litter are up for tryouts, with their littermate Damselflykit being played by KaziKreatures !
These kits will have an untraditional upbringing, some of which won't be revealed until later. Before they're old enough to open their eyes Ridgeback will struggle severely with parenthood, their mental health wavering under the sheer stress and trauma of the events endured. Though they will love their children immensely it won't be uncommon for them to have nervous breakdowns as soon as their born, that of which will worsen for a week or so seeing as the kits will be born with fever coats from the severe injury and stress of the pregnancy and as those fever coats clear the haunting resemble to their father will become apparent. It won't be until the kits start stumbling about and starting to become cognizant of their surroundings will Ridgeback's intense attachment and love for their children drive them back to their side instead of pawning them off on kit caretakers and they step up to the plate as a loving albeit fairly nonverbal parent due to their injuries. All of the kits will learn sign language as a result! They'll also be raised communally by Rid as their primary parent but also their aunt Mousefang and any other family and loved ones instead of traditional. To add to this they'll be raised gender neutrally with they / them pronouns and able to freely choose how they wish to identify as they explore themselves and grow.
Not all is guaranteed well though, will there be consequences for this kits' parentage? Will things truly ever get to be safe?
Like many litters lately, these kits have plot opportunities for future plot points that will remain secret for now, but be aware!
Not everything is simple, and not every story ends when you think...
Rules
- The tryout hosts (Myself & Kazi ) expect winners to be active with their kits! We reserve the right to reclaim & rehome the kit should anything arise, though we will always attempt to resolve any issues amicably before reaching that point.
- We also expect communication concerning ships, major plots, putting up for injury etc. just so we stay in the loop as family, and because it's common courtesy!
- Going along with the last rule, please do not kill this kit off or put them up for death without explicit permission from us both!
- The kits designs are set! The designs of these kits belong to myself and Kazi and due to the ownership circumstances of their parents' designs, we cannot offer winners a purchase agreement/outright give them the designs down the line, though whilst you're RPing the characters at FOW, these designs are yours in all but name. If you leave FOW at any point or drop the character, the designs will remain with us. There is a not impossible chance of co-own down the line however.
- These kits are being born to a very strong support system to a very close-knit family, though spats can happen please always ask the family first and it's preferred they make up in the end as this is meant to be a very strong family unit! Their parents were excellent combatants and deeply loyal to what they believed it good, it's more than reasonable if the kiddos reflected that!
- The art of the kits at the three life stages (Kit/Apprentice/Warrior) can be used by winners, though ownership of the art belongs to myself and Kazi. This must be respected! Please do not use them outside of FOW, which you shouldn't be doing anyways per the design rule!
- There are pre-selected name for this litter, so please list them in your tryout! They will be detailed below!

Tryout Information
- The kits up for adoption are Lichenkit and Raptorkit! Below you'll be able to find rough outlines of the headcanons we had for them but please feel free to put your own creative spin on things!
- Lichenkit (AFAB) is a true runt who comes with both abnormally small and eyeless traits pre-purchased for you. For a hefty few days it appears as if the little kit will fail to thrive, though thankfully through whether it be willpower, tenacity, or response to all the support and efforts around them they survive and though a touch slower than their littermates their fever coat begins to clear. Their apprenticeship will be delayed by a moon as their health recovers putting them off of the schedule of their siblings by one IC month!
- Raptorkit (AMAB) is a stocky bugger, always lively and nearly a haunting carbon copy of their father... save for the fact they're actually the smartest sibling in the litter by a landslide. Seriously, they take more after their uncle Timberwolf or parent Ridgeback than they even remotely do their dad despite their appearance, well, save for maybe his protective nature.
- Damselflykit (AMAB) is a rambunctious little thing, taking after both of their parents in unmatched energy and charm. There's no time of the day he isn't looking for something to get into, or learn about. He's the most reckless of the three, often jumping head first into situations, or taking charge on an indecision. Taking after Alligatorgrin, she has a tendency for jealousy, trying to outdo the competition and prove she's the best.
- These kits are being born into a somewhat small family; On Ridgeback 's side, they have an aunt Mousefang and grandparents in the form of ShadowClan's former deputy Timberwolf and his lifelong love Lynxshade . By extension this makes them related to Stonestar and their younger sibling Whiteswan , due to Stonestar being the child of Timberwolf's littermate sister Lynxtuft (NPC), though this side of the family as it stands isn't particularly close. On Alligatorgrin 's side they have a single uncle Pythonsmirk , that of whom is a rebel as well.
- For Limited Traits; anything goes, though we will be picky about disabled traits on any kit but Lichenkit who is meant to struggle the most developmentally as a proxy of their parent's severe injuries and stress during pregnancy.
- These kits are born September 6th 2023! Tryouts end August 30th to allow a week for applications to be prepared! Apprentice art can be viewed here and adult art can be viewed here for the curious!
