The Lady laughed bright and clear as her mate scrabbled up the sheer rocks ahead of her. “You’ll never catch the hart if that’s the best you can do my Lord!” She crowed, bounding over the river with a practiced leap and claiming the lead without slowing her breakneck pace. “Come on, Love! Don’t tell me you’re tired already!”

Heaving himself up the slippery rocks at the river’s edge, Lord Alcatraz looked up to see Athena fly past him, landing in the grass before him and arrowing onward without a pause. Her laugher rang through the air as she teased him. “Tired, me? Pfah!” the Warden huffed between strides as he resumed their race, “When the chase is over, you’ll see the best I can do.”

This started as just a collection of rough sketches showcasing how agile Arynians are against the daunting terrain of the Hinterland. But I should have known anything related to Athcatrazna would get ahead of me
