Thank you to everyone who volunteered! 
After several months of skirmishing with no clear victor in sight, Vektren has decided to change the rules of engagement and fight dirty. Buttheads.
Previously:
- Many Arynians have been wounded by Vektreni raiders, but so far none have died.
- Vektren has been greasing their fur with an herbal poison designed by Epione to cause illness and disorientation to Arynians who come into contact (through biting, etc.)
- Master Vicar Tzuriel and a few trusted confidants retaliated by setting up traps at chokepoints around Aryn - thorn bushes coated with a potent peyote concoction designed to cause Vektreni that ran into them to feel ill and potentially even hallucinate
- Vektren has figured out what Aryn's traps are made of, and aren't about to be beaten at their own game. Do you see where this is going?
The Plan of Attack:
One Vektreni will attract the attention of a high-profile Aryn Patrol, leaving a trail for them to follow back to the Vektren borders.
Arynian patrols are organized with a forward scout, a main body, and occasionally, a rear scout.
Once Aryn's forward scout reaches the ambush site, the Vektreni will attack and cripple them, but when the forward scout howls for backup from the rest of the patrol, the Vektreni will retreat out of sight as though frightened away.
When the main body of the Aryn patrol arrives to help their wounded scout, a Vektreni raiding party will spring from cover, surrounding the Arynians.
The fighting will be brief. Aryn's patrol is quickly overwhelmed and a Magister carrying a potent "herb bomb" will shove their poison in the face/eyes/nose of the Arynians, rendering them weak and sedated.
The Vektreni raiders will pull out their own thorn-bush traps, using the stinging, poison coated vines to entangle the subdued Aryn Patrol and then dragging the captives to a Reeducation pit inside Vektren territory. If there was a rear scout in the Aryn patrol, they will be killed and their heart taken for sacrifice, or captured along with the rest of the patrol. (If you wanted a dramatic end for your Arynian, here it is!)
The wounded forward scout will be left behind, along with the knowledge that they were unwittingly used as bait to lure their Brothers and Sisters to a grisly fate. (If you were looking for a way to give your character a horriffic case of survivor's guilt, here it is!)
Arynian captives will only be offered food and water that has been tainted with more psychoactive and addictive herbs prepared by magisters. The Arynians will be tortured and manipulated, subjected to hallucinations of monsters from Vektren's Void and other horrors of Xibalten and Senisteros. Vipers, magisters, and necrolytes will be permitted to toy with the captives at their pleasure.
When the Arynian Captives have developed a dependency on the addictive herb mixtures, and/or have been broken by the terrors of the Pit, they will be released back into Aryn. Released captives will have been too heavily drugged and disoriented to find their way back to the Pits.
Vektren Roles Available:
- 1 Enforcer or Scythe - to lure the Aryn patrol out and cripple the forward scout
- 1 Magister- to carry and use the herb "bomb" once the Arynian patrol is surrounded
- 2-4 Vektreni - to subdue the prisoners and ensnare the disoriented Arynians with thorny vines
Aryn Roles Available:
- 1 Ranger or Courser - will be badly wounded and used as bait, and later left behind as further insult to Aryn
- 2-3 Arynians - (preferably offspring of Athena & Alcatraz, or wolves ranked Beta or higher!) will be captured after answering the scout's cry for help, subjected to Vektreni torture and forced to consume psychoactive substances mixed into their food and water
Some Potential Outcomes:
- Arynians will have suffered greatly at the fangs of Vektren, and will inevitably struggle to cope with the pain and humiliation they were subjected to in the Pits. This may create a wedge between them and their fellow packmates - even to the point that the released captives' loyalties are questioned by their kin.
- Arynians who return home after addiction has taken hold will face an agonizing and potentially dangerous detoxification period. Nightmares, mood swings, hallucinations, a floodgate of traumatizing that will inevitably also impact their friends and family as they recover.
- Arynians may decide that with all the horrors Vektren can unleash - with the power their gods possess - joining the cult is the only way to survive, and change teams! Does your character have a secret dark side? This is a great opportunity to find it!
- Vektreni will have the opportunity to practice their trades on these captives, it's an excellent learning experience for the younger cult members, and a chance to experiment for the higher ranking cultists!
- Vektreni who have not yet bloodied themselves may find the sudden unveiling of all the brutality Vektren is capable of overwhelming. This is what the gods demand, but maybe your character doesn't quite have the stomach for it? Maybe the faith the Arynians cling to throughout their suffering inspires that black heart of yours?
- Vektreni may find this change in tactic unsettling, to say the least. The Re-education pits are for re-education, after all. And this? Well, catch-torture-release has never been the M.O. Mistress Hekate is acting uncharacteristically, which may further incite dissent.
- Both sides might find themselves with extra scars, or even a quick ticket to the afterlife! It's possible the mistreatment of the Pits proves too much for the captives, or they may even starve themselves before they break. It's also possible a Vektreni might get a bit too cocky playing games with the hallucinating frightened prisoner and pay the ultimate price for cornering a wounded animal.

PLEASE READ (or wyn will be sad)
The beginning of this sub-plot is fairly structured and there are some specific required outcomes! Once participants have been chosen, we will organize the details of the prompt according to their interests and preferences!
- The first RP will consist of the Arynian patrol being lured out and captured! This RP will have a month and a half deadline. Please do NOT apply if you are uncomfortable with hard deadlines or if you know you won't be able to respond regularly!
- The time frame for the captivity of the Arynians is set to extend for at least another month and a half after the capture RP is complete, but the details will be worked out with the participants once they've been chosen!
- Arynians who partake in this RP MUST be captured as outlined above and captives MUST be kept prisoner at least until they break or addiction takes hold. If you do not want these things to happen to your character, please do not apply!
Remember to be courteous and considerate towards fellow RP'ers! Do not wound or incapacitate other characters without first agreeing to it OOC. This sub-plot utilizes a number of sensitive topics, so make sure you and your RP partners are clear about each other's RP boundaries BEFORE you start writing!
- The effects of this sub-plot are likely to have long-term effects on characters from both sides, it's an opportunity to uncover new sides and dilemmas for your character, and to help steer future plot events!

Hey Arynians who are looking to get captured via this event. Miron is gentle, but is also an extraordinarily coercive and manipulative Necrolyte who will be happy to bring your wolf to the shunned ones via conversation and coercion in the pits. He's not one to use violence, but he will certainly take advantage of the hallucinogenics and other poisons that your wolf will be under the influence of.
If you're interested in your wolf coming out of the pits believing Lady Nightmare, feel free to get a hold of me~
However, Miron is also easily fooled. Your wolf could very easily pretend to believe in the shunned Gods and gain Miron's trust. So this could potentially be another outcome of these conversations that I'm open to!

I'm not going to volunteer Phaeton for the raiding party since he's sticking very close to home right now, BUT if it's okay I'd like to toss out an offer when the time comes for any captured Aryn wolves who'd like to interact with him while they're stuck in the Pits! It's about time he started getting into the nitty-gritty of what it means to belong to the Shunned Ones. He's too devoted to Hekate to ever renounce his faith but I think this could be a cool opportunity for him to gain some perspective.

Ultimately I think it will strengthen his resolve, but Phaeton's still young and he hasn't really been exposed to any of Vektren's dirty work firsthand yet. He's aware there might be violence in theory but he's no sadist himself. Time to prove he'd really do ANYTHING for his mama. >:]
(it's been interesting, trying to write a member of a death cult who's decidedly not evil at heart... but good people can be driven to do bad things if they think they're in the right! and if Hekate says these wolves have to suffer, well... how could his mom ever be wrong?)
