Concept art for a story I'm developing. The name Plasmatica, an anglicized version of the Spanish word plasmática, has no direct proper translation, but means having to do with organic plasma. The name is a double entendre, referring to both organic and celestial plasma, to tie together two major themes of the story.

Lucian "Lucifer" Teufel - He had a rough childhood, growing up in a city ghetto and orphaned at age eight, and he's developed a hard shell because of it. He portrays little emotion besides occasionally letting his temper get the best of him. He clashes with Danica a lot, and vents on Calisto later. Also [link]

Danica Jackson - Born into a middle-class family in a suburban neighborhood, she experienced a lot of emotional turmoil with her father's affair and a long divorce process. She learned to fend for herself as her family slipped into poverty, helping her mother with 5 mouths to feed by getting jobs outside of school. She thinks she can understand Lucian but sees Calisto as a shrouded mystery.

Calisto Serafim - Involved at an early age in the illicit drug trade, and living with an abusive uncle, he escaped this lifestyle at the age of twelve with the help of a reporter working on a case against child labor. He moved from his native Brazil to the U.S. at fourteen with more help and went from job to job before meeting the others. He thinks Lucian is a pretentious hothead and Danica is a naive control freak.
