Download for Full ViewWooooo! My last painting of the year for art class, and my art exam (even though I was exempt) and I am super super super proud of it. It took forver! And I only used two colors for it, orange and blue, plus black and white of course. That was our next project, since the last time I used only one color for my blue owl painting.
And some of you will guess the inspiration behind this painting
I got the idea from Guardians of Ga'Hoole(*Beware of spoilers!*); in the story theres an area known as The Beyond the Beyond were wolf packs live near a ring of five volcanos. Owls go their for the coals, and often interact with the wolves.A barn owl would have been more fitting, but I did a Barn Owl in my last painting, and wanted to do something new. Originally I wanted to do a Spotted Owl, which would have also been fitting, but I couldn't find any good photos of flying Spotted Owls that I liked. And when I saw this owl, I new it was the one. It was so much fun to paint
This photo is okay, but the colors still turned out dingy
Its much more vibrant and colorful in real life. And the teacher let me put this special acrylic gloss medium on it that makes in sharp and shiny 
Well, I guess thats all I gotzta say about this C: Comments and Critique please!

actually, that isn't Gwynneth and Faolan, unfortunately, because for one Gwynneth is a kind of barn owl and the owl in this is a great gray(at least i'm pretty sure that's what it's called) and the wolf's paw isn't twisted, plus in the description instead of the Wolves of the Beyond the artist said hopw in the Guardians of Ga'Hoole they mention Beyond the Beyond and the Sacred Ring, heh

This is amazing! The owl reminds me of Twilight lol. I love the details.. the texture of the wolf and the owl. It looks like if you touch it, it will feel like an actual wolf pelt and owl feathers.

just a tiny tip... not to hurt your feeling or anything, but Gwynneth is a masked owl, but that's all! it';s awesome anyways! and if that owl isnt Gwynneth, Than Yeah, forget I said that. but yeah, cool!
