I'm back with more recent work. Sooo, you may not know this but I'm a pretty big Pokemon fan. And I love the concept of Mega Evolution much more than most of the gimmicks that come with newer Pokemon games. I'd always wanted to make Fakemon art, and I thought this would be a nice way to start now that I'm at a point where I can kind of mimic the style of Pokemon art.

I plan on going through most of the pokemon up until Galar, but by the time I get there, there will probably be a new region or something honestly. So I'll just be doing this now. So with that said, I'm starting with the Starters, and after that I'm probably gonna try to go for pokemon in the Kanto region. But if I don't feel like it, then I'll just do whatever pokemon I feel.

Originally, I wanted to do more of these before I posted them to DeviantArt, but I decided to just get the first three starters done before posting. And since these were originally designed for Instagram where you can do multiple slides on a post; I had to re-do these for DA. Which is a shame, because I created a ton more slides for info on these Mega Evolutions. I'm probably going to just have to post the info in the description of these posts. Which isn't that bad, albeit not as exciting.

GENERAL INFO:

Name: Mega Charizard +

Required Stone: Charizardite +

Type: Fire/Flying

Ability: (Searing Wings) - All flying type attacks from this pokemon now have a chance to inflict the burn status on targets. Even if they miss.

Description/Dex Entry:

The power of Mega Evolution has merged it's wings and it's arms together. Making for more effective flight. The excess energy has also caused it to develop special Heat Organs inside it's wings. It can Scorch the air just by flapping it's wings.

Thought Process, Ideas, Etc:

Ofcourse I had to start with Charizard. As much as I dislike all of the attention it Charizard seems to get in almost every new iteration of Pokemon. I can also understand that he is ridiculously popular. So I thought I'd pull a Gamefreak and start with what everyone knows. Anywhosit, Charizard was always based on a classic, six-limbed, western dragon. Which is something everyone is familiar with. But what a lot of people don't know, is that classic western dragons are also usually depicted as malicious or evil. So I wanted to go for a design that emulated that. But to mix things up, I went with a four-limbed wyvern look. Just because it hasn't been done for Charizard yet.
