I'm stuck at step two. I set size and opacity pen pressure, but I can't handle it. When I draw the mane and try to fill it, it becomes darker because of opacity; I tried pressing harder, but it then becomes too big. What should I do? It doesn't come out uniform as your tail, I don't know what to do. Thank you very much!

use a smaller brush if it gets too big, then you can press as hard as you like. the size should be the maximum size you want your brush to be. try doodling to loosen up your wrist, if not a new tutorial is posted.

I cant seem to get past step two either. And tried your idea but I don't use a tablet so it doesn't help much... Anything else?

Hmm, using a mouse can be difficult. I have two different brush sets that I've tried with a mouse. It makes things easier, but it won't work the *best* for anything complex. Check my gallery folder "Brushes"

Hmm, grab a sheet of paper and pencil, and just go doodle crazy with curving lines and shit. Doesn't even have to resemble hair. Loosen your muscles, don't over think it. Transfer that relaxed mind set over (:
