Ouch - stolen photo with no attribution! I would love to use this (and almost did), but fortunately I read the comments and realized that it is the work of a different photographer ( Alexander Yakovlev -> www.ayakovlev.com ) who did NOT give consent. Even after all of the comments below, why haven't you AT LEAST given attribution to Alexander Yakovlev in the description (or better yet, remove it from stock photos and from DA)??
It looks like you downloaded this from another person who committed the original theft:
Jaffar-Style's Break Dancing Image Pack: [link] (contains stolen images)
He set you (and others) up for copyright violations and potential lawsuits. Short of that, it can ruin your reputation, too.

I have reported you to DeviantART HQ and the original owner of the image, It may help people but the fact is its someone elses image who did NOT give their permission to you.
Thought Id like to give you a heads up and give you the chance to take this down.

just a question.. probably stupid, but who is the original owner?? there's a whole bunch of images with this guy in them that i'm trying to find but i can't seem to get them all in the same place! so if i could find where they come from and get some permission i can use them in my own work.

This isn't photobucket and that's a photo with very slight retouches that you didn't make, for a competition that shouldn't accept it. Loser.

how is this a render. its not even close to one. all you did was take someones work and cut it out and let people download it. the person who did all the work tries to sell it. they dont allow people to take their work and let anyone use it.

Original by Alexander Yakovlev -> www.ayakovlev.com
And sorry, you ubloaded it, so you do claimed it as your own... that's the law.

I downloaded it from someone who clearly did not create it himself, therefor I didn't feel the need to give any credits due to the fact that he didn't actually make it, and I didn't know who really did.

Then you shouldn't be uploading it, to be honest. If you can't credit the original, it isn't your place to upload it anyway.
That'd be like me as a musician using a piece of another's song and then saying I can't give them credit because I forgot who made it.
No matter how you slice it, it shouldn't be here.

People are using it, I don't really care to be honest. It is helping people out, so I'm not going to just take it down.
Sue me if you want.

So you're not only breaking the copyright rules, but encouraging others to do so.
God. Don't ever have children.

By the way, I have contacted the original artist and I have reported this. If neither he nor deviantART does nothing about this, then, well it's their problem.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Well done for sticking up for the original photographer. I have seen this picture and others from the same series used in heaps of photomanips here at DA and I wondered where they came from. Sad that people think they can just post other peoples work here without giving credit or getting permission.
What does the photographer think about it? (would love to use his stuff too actually!)

BenLiteral In reply to Riccus [2011-02-12 14:19:15 +0000 UTC]
Seriously. It's really quite pathetic. And then they actually try to defend it. I doesn't make the slightest bit of sense.
Well, I contacted the original photographer via Facebook not too long ago and gave him the link. He said he would contact someone here. Maybe he'll allow it, maybe he won't, but I wanted to make sure he knew what was going on.

Tell me where it says that I claimed this as my own? I just put the render up incase anyone wants to use it, considering the stock is already put up for free in multiple places on the site.

The owner of this picture is trying to sell his work and you are giving away his work as a open source idiot.. Can you show us your license to share this or even you bought this stock..?
Besides the meaning of deviant is show off work you did.. And you clearly didn't made this..
Man i so hope you get some big penalty for sharing this as a open source after almost everyone warned you..

BenLiteral In reply to xRiptide [2011-01-30 18:16:12 +0000 UTC]
Well, to be fair (and I mean no disrespect), you never claimed it as your own, but without getting permission and giving credit to the original artist, you are passively claiming you created it, as this is a site where people upload things THEY created.

tsheva [2011-01-29 11:04:58 +0000 UTC]
Um...this is a purchased picture...you cannot claim it as your own stock.
