Description
Badgerscar exited himself out of the Warrior’s Den, his light cobalt-blue eyes holding a mixture of drowsiness and mild boredom. His highly darkened brown pelt was unkempt at the moment, having no time to fix his thick fur yet. He slowly lifted his head and let out a wide yawn, opening his jaws to their fullest extend and curling his pink tongue inward. Once his jaws closed again, he blinked his eyes to rid of the sleep that still clung to him.Lionpaw, Badgerscar’s apprentice, had looked over toward his mentor’s way, wondering if he could go battle training for him. He gulped down the mouse he had been eating and padded over to the Warrior wearily, “Hey Badgerscar.”
“Hm?” Badgerscar had come to a stop in his tracks, lifting his head and twisting it to the side to allow him to peer down at Lionpaw, his apprentice. His ears had lifted up from their lazy posture atop of his head and took on an erect position. The bored feeling never left his lightly coloured orbs as his attention had now been fully focused on the apprentice.
Lionpaw gulped and shuffled his paws. “Well, I was wondering what we were going to do today?” He asked, hoping he wasn’t being a burden.
Badgerscar let out a deep half-groan, half-sigh, appearing to be not the slightest bit pleased that he was obliged to train Lionpaw. “We’re going hunting.” He answered, holding a bit more emotion in his voice than just plain boredom. He had to do his job for hunting anyway so he might as well get it over with now. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t stop him from complaining during the trip.
Lionpaw only nodded, happy to do whatever his mentor wanted to do, even if it was hunting.
The highly darkened brown tom had let out another sigh, this one more inwardly, as he turned his direction and began his walk toward the entrance of the camp. His pelt was still unkempt from lack of grooming as he made his exit, not even waiting nor looking to see if the younger tom was coming along. He needn’t look back for Lionpaw was happily following after with his tail in the air.
~~
Another yawn had managed slip out of the Warrior’s jaws as he continued with his walk, leading his apprentice in the direction of where the forest lies. He gave a shake of his head in order to keep himself from falling into that sleepy state once more. He kept his head semi-low as he walked, enough to where his shoulder blades were poking out from his back. He eventually came to a stop in his tracks when he determined that they were at a reasonable spot for hunting. He twisted his head around in order to look back at Lionpaw to see if he was still with him and he was- this being just about the only time he had ever really taken an action of concern though he didn’t reveal it physically. He let low grumbles of complaints pass through the lips of his muzzle before he could start with training/hunting.
Lionpaw wasn’t going to let the grumpy tom get tom him. He was going to be positive and happy.
A soft, little growl had quickly escaped from his throat before he brought his full attention to Lionpaw. “Go ahead.” Was all that Badgerscar said before he pushed his paws against the ground to give him a little start into a lope as he began to create distance between him and his apprentice. He kept a mental note in the back of his head to check up on him every now and then.
Lionpaw had only shrugged at his mentor’s command and scented the air; following a trail he had been capable of picking up.
Once Badgerscar was a good distance away, he came to a halt in his tracks tilted his head back so that his snout was pointed in the air. He parted his jaws slightly, drinking in the air that was filled with a variety of scents that resided in the forest along with the taste of the fog itself. It didn’t take long for him to catch a scent, even with the fog, which was of a mouse. A small smile of satisfaction had appeared onto his muzzle and he immediately got into the appropriate hunter’s crouch for the mouse, slowly and soundlessly creeping toward the little creature that was now his prey.
~~
Batshimmer stalked through the forest, stopping to speak with Lionpaw quickly. She asked him where Badgerscar had gone, and when he told her that his mentor had left him alone. She only shook her head and snorted. “Just like him to leave you out here like this.” She complained rolling her eyes and sitting down. After a few heartbeats pass, she had lifted herself up to her paws and padded off back to camp, spotting Crabpaw and making her way over to him. “Hey, what are you doing?” Batshimmer asked.
“Nothing.” Crabpaw mumbled in reply, not taking his eyes off of the moss ball.
Batshimmer had rolled her shoulders in a shrug-like action. “Want to go jump Badgerscar?” She asked to Crabpaw, her eyes lighting up with excitement at the idea of hers.
“Why would we do that?” Crabpaw asked with slight confusion in his voice and showing a little on his face, his eyes still fixated on the moss ball.
A smirk almost immediately appeared on Batshimmer’s face at the question that was asked to her. “Because we can! Plus, he made fun of me the other day.” She said, holding a little bitterness in her voice as she spoke her last sentence.
Crabpaw only shrugged in reply, finally bringing his attention over to the Warrior. “You can jump him and I’ll speculate from a tree.” He replied. “I don’t feel like getting into trouble today.”
The she-cat had rolled her shoulders in another shrug; not exactly intentionally performing the action for it almost seemed like a habit. “Okay, let’s go!” She exclaimed with a smile on her face as she turned toward the entrance of the camp and began to lead her way out. She needn’t look back for Crabpaw was following behind in order watch like he said he would do.
~~
Badgerscar closed in on the distance between him and the mouse with each little step he took, making sure to keep himself as quite as possible. The thrill of the patient hunt had soared down his back, bringing excitement to spark in his light, cobalt-blue eyes. Unfortunately, one of the steps he took had been on a twig which immediately snapped in two. The mouse, whom had been disturbed from its peace, had begun to flee. The tom-cat leapt at the mouse, in hopes that he could catch it before it got away. He almost was successful until it darted out from under him and had caused him to end up crashing, his chin slamming hard against the ground. Pain shot from his chin and had spread all across his muzzle, traveling a little ways down his throat. The only sounds that came out were pained grunts and winces as he laid there for some time, trying to recover from his little mishap. He slowly lifted himself up to his paws using shaky legs, pain still pulsing from the impact of his crash. He continuously hissed and snarled out curses, not even bothering to keep them under his breath. It wasn’t like anyone was around and the only one who could possibly hear him was Lionpaw. He let out another wince as he shifted his jaw slightly, another curse escaping from his mouth. His fur was now standing completely straight up, fury raced through his veins and heated his blood up which was plainly seen in his blazing orbs. He growled at his loss then began to move, wanting to forget about it as he sought out Lionpaw.
Batshimmer carefully led the way through the foggy forest, shivering at the memory of getting lost in the fog one time when she was little, but she led on confidently and found the area Lionpaw was. She climbed a nearby tree to wait for Badgerscar.
Crabpaw followed Batshimmer silently and climbed a tree adjacent to hers. He made his way to a lofty branch which he used as a speculating perch to watch the she-cat.
Lionpaw had looked up from the lizard he had killed as his mentor came closer. He waved his tail in greeting, placing a smile on his muzzle at the sight of the Warrior.
Badgerscar had only shot a glare toward Lionpaw’s way with nostrils flaring in anger- a glare that was full of that fury that continued to flow throughout his body and even begin to radiate off of his pelt. He let out a furious half-snort, half-exhale, not even daring to speak for it would only be a foul mouth. As he approached his apprentice, he examined his catch, which was a measly lizard, not appearing to be impressed. Then he turned and began to stalk away.
Batshimmer giggled and lashed her tail, jumping down and landing square on Badgerscar’s shoulders with excitement washing through her as she landed.
A loud yowl emitted from the tom’s mouth, a cross between anger and surprise, as a sudden weight was dropped upon his shoulders and forcing him to the ground. He had only kept himself down there for a heartbeat’s pass before he pushed his front paws off the ground and reared up onto his hind legs in an attempt to toss whomever it was that was on his back. His ears had pinned back against his head, never-ending anger sliding through all parts of his body.
The she-cat had flung off of him, hitting a nearby tree and sliding to the ground, the air torn from her lungs.
Badgerscar fell back onto all four paws and whirled himself around to face his attacker, his highly darkened brown fur bristling. He pulled his lip back and bared his fangs, cobalt-blue eyes locking onto Batshimmer, whom he now had identified as his attacker. At the moment, he didn’t care that she was his clanmate. Nothing was going to stop him from attacking…well, almost nothing. He relaxed just a tiny bit, a smirk stretching across his muzzle and eyes narrowing. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t Largeears.” He sneered, using the nickname he had given her ever since he met her.
Crabpaw watched from his perch, his tail flicking in amusement. He half-wished he had something to eat, noticing his stomach starting to growl. He suppressed a bout of laughter as he heard the nickname. Regaining his composure, he continued to watch the two Warriors quarrel.
Bat shimmer shook her head and sat up almost dizzily. “Oh, Largeears again, is it?” She hissed with a glare on her face and her fur bristling. She took a step towards him, anger flaring up as his anger flared.
“You should have been called Largeears from the start.” He remarked, still sneering as he spoke each with a hint of bitterness in his tone along with teasing. The emotion in his light, cobalt-blue orbs reflected on his tone almost. “I’m sure your father wanted to call you that, as did your mother, but knew it was only an insult so they didn’t.” He wasn’t sure if this were true or not, but said it anyways for it was more than enough to pleas him with his snarky comments. Batshimmer was just too easy of a target to him.
Batshimmer felt the gathering of tears behind her eyes as the words he spoke struck and stung her from within. She hadn’t really known her parents that well, and they always argued so what he said might have even been true. She growled at him and leapt, with claws flashing in the light, as she jumped for his back, angrily letting out a screech. She was hoping the anger would mask her tears that she refused to let fall from her face.
Badgerscar had quickly dropped to the ground, falling onto his back, just before she could reach him with her outstretched claws. He waited for the right moment before he thrust all four limbs forward, catching her by her belly. He then used a majority of his strength in order to create enough force to push her off of his paws and throwing her behind him, doing all of this in one swift motion. Once this was done, he flipped over onto his stomach again and climbed up to his paws.
Batshimmer let out an oof and landed on the ground with a crack and a thud. She didn’t move at all after that impact.
Crabpaw’s eyes widened in a mixture of surprise and horror as the Warriors continued their mini battle. He clung to his branch for dear life, hoping that they would soon tire and leave each other alone. Hating to see his clanmates fight each other, he tried to advert his gaze and ignore the sound of battle below him. His eyes had widened more as he heard the sickening crack. He forced himself to look down and saw Batshimmer’s motionless body. Staring blankly at her body, he began to shiver and refused to climb down and check on her, fearing the worst. The apprentice then turned to Badgerscar and glared at him. He wanted to yowl at the foolish tom but knew that they were both to blame for the accident and kept quite as he slowly started down the tree.
The Warrior stood there in a defensive posture, waiting for the moment to come where she would get up and attack again, but it never came. As heartbeats continued to pass, the negative excitement of the battle began to fade as well as the anger that was beginning to slip from his tense muscles of his body. He slowly lifted his head, flanks beginning to feel sore from his heavy breathing as he stared, a look of concern that was now publicly seen in his eyes. “Ba-Batshimmer?” He called out to the she-cat, his heavy breathing causing a stutter in his words.
Lionpaw was frozen from where he stood on the ground, not at all far from the two Warriors. He just stared wide-eyed from a bush he had hid in during the fighting that was commencing. He peeked around the bush, wondering if everyone was okay and also wondering if Batshimmer was…He couldn’t even think it for it was too horrible. He crept out, looking around.
The more the time passed the more dread that began to settle within the barriers of Badgerscar’s heart as Batshimmer remained motionless from where she laid. An ear flicked over to where he heard the rustling of bushes and his head snapped over toward the sound, spotting Lionpaw. His eyes narrowed at his apprentice and he snapped in a harsh, disapproving tone: “Don’t just stand there like a mouse-brain! Get help!” After that, he turned back to Batshimmer, rushing over to her to see how badly she was hurt.
Lionpaw had nodded in response to his mentor’s severe snapping and took off, taking the path toward the clan’s camp in order to seek out help. He was soon joined by Crabpaw whom he had just noticed was also present at the scene.
As the tom-cat moved closer, Batshimmer groaned but didn’t move. She slowly opened her eyes to look up at him. “Ouch.” She gasped, seeming to be a little short of breath.
Badgerscar shifted his position so that he was gazing down at her, a mixture of emotions swirling within his orbs and only a few which could be identified. “Are you okay?” he asked in a low voice as he continued to peer down at her. It wasn’t until after he asked the question that he thought it was foolish to ask such a question. He inwardly cursed at himself for being foolish, but still awaited an answer.
She slowly rolled over; face slightly scrunched up in pain that she felt. A large stick was snapped under her body, a twig stuck in her side. “Not as bad as everyone’s making it, is it?” She groaned in pain, blood slowly dripping out of the wound, but not nearly enough to kill her anytime soon.
“Don’t be mouse-brained.” The highly darkened brown tom snapped half-heartedly, still holding some fire within him that was only enough to show in his voice. He moved over toward the twig, lowering his head toward it and latching his teeth around it. “It’s always better to be safe than sorry.” He meowed through the little wooden stick, his words muffled as he spoke. He began to lightly rock his head from side-to-side before he gave a jerk to pull the twig out.
Batshimmer couldn’t help but screech at the leftover pain from the twig that was now released from her side, but she looked up at the tom. “Hey be careful! That’s one of my only sides there.” She said, teasing but her voice was breathing and she wasn’t focusing too well. She shook her head in attempt to clear the dizziness that was clinging to her. “I’m okay, just dizzy that’s all.”
A flick of Badgerscar’s ears had indicated that he had only been mildly annoyed by her comment but otherwise not at all bothered at the slightest. In his response, he dropped the twig onto her pelt then stepped away from her, amusement lit up in his eyes as he watched her. “Your mouth says one thing, but your body says another.” He simply said, a light little grin forming itself onto his muzzle. His eyes only briefly flickered down to the blood that was still oozing out from her side, never looking at it again. Once he had helped her up to her paws, he walked with her for aid and support back to their home so that she may get treated for her wound that was his fault.

Badgerscar's somewhat hunting patrol as he attempts to hunt a mouse but fails miserably in the end. Not sure what else to say now since I think the RP story explains it all.
I would like to mention that a majority of this is straight from the RP performed along with me editing things here and there since...well, I'm a Nazi Grammar and I thought it would like nicer the way I put it.

So far, yes. I do plan on making a ref sheet of him in the future- hopefully soon- but, pretty much what you see is how he looks without a ref sheet...except for the tail.
The visible paw that is shown now is the same for the other three.
