So a few years ago I put out what I consider to be one of my best projects ever, the Power Rangers Atlantis trilogy. I left the ending open enough and with enough breadcrumbs that I could always come back. But when I did, I hated what I added and felt it honestly hurt the legacy of the Atlantis Trilogy so I set it aside and left it as a good trilogy...and one not-so good spin-off. I vowed to not come back unless I could do something of similar thought and quality.

Enter a recent article I read saying that Power Rangers had come to an end after 30 years. Which drove me to finally watch the latest series, Dino Fury (yeah I know, I'm behind a bit). Which then planted the seed of an idea. I decided to return to my Power Rangers world to fix the one aspect of the Atlantis Trilogy I didn't like, the underdeveloped characters in part 3. My original plan was to do a spin-off for each of those characters utilizing various themes that are popular with the franchise.

Well after deciding that was a bad idea, I chose to go a different route, one that will pay off more in the end...continuing the story with the same rangers but with different suits/powers. More like how it started with Mighty Morphin' becoming Zeo, becoming Turbo, etc rather than an annual swap that the franchise turned into.

So here's the pitch, which is subject to change:

The United Defense Force (UDF) sends a craft into space crewed by all the survivong former Rangers where they through some kind of mishap end up on another galaxy with no contact with Earth. Not only that, but all UDF forces have been cut off from the Morphing Grid. So the team must navigate this new frontier all while dealing with a warlord who seems to have grand plans for this region of space. But there is a legend, one that tells of brave warriors who are said to return when the galaxy needs them again.

For the suit designs I went with a sci-fi spacesuit look with a Superpower Beatdown for added detail. Because it's meant to be a space faring sci-fi story I wanted to have a Prometheus/The Martian/Buzz Lightyear feel to the suit. I then of course used the standard three options for Rangers; male, female with and w/o skirt. For the helmets I dug up some of my old dinosaur helmet designs and updated them a bit. I gave myself a bunch of options just to see what it would look like, every official color is represented here to help me choose. The team may be a bit bigger than the usual 5 standard 1 special, not sure how I'll work that into the story just yet, but I have 6 Rangers from the Atlantis Trilogy already and given the setting I want to incorporate some alien Rangers into the mix as well.

Anyway, let me know what you think in the usual spot down below, perhaps share some ideas for names, 'cause right now I got nothing for that department. Or maybe help me whittle down options by sharing what designs are your favorite.
