Up until the annoucement of Sonic Generations which looks like one of the best Sonic games around, Sonic would constantly be put into games where he could'nt just run fast, like in his old titles.Sonic Unleashed (The Werehog Stages)
Sonic Riders
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
Sonic Free Riders
Sonic and Sega All-Star Racing
Sega All-Star Tennis
Just to name a few, now mind you, I don't hate these games at all, anything with Sonic in it, I instantly love, I just noticed for Awhile Sonic couldn't run free like in his old Genesis Platform Games.
Sonic belongs to SEGA.

I like to think that in the racing games, this is actually a way to give the others a sporting chance! Yes, Sonic's way faster without a car - and that's why he has to have one, otherwise he'd have to be disqualified due to winning every race in 0.5 seconds!
He looks so very sad in that picture. I guess he just doesn't like not getting to run about. Poor little guy!
