I'm taking a little break from commissions and gifts (I'm working on 3 pics at the same time xD) so here are some concept sketches of my new OCs for Final Fantasy XIV!

They're not done yet, I think I'll make them real sheets, as soon as I have all their story stuff ect. together. For now the "stories" are very rough >_< But I'll wright it down here in small bios, tell me what you think Maybe you can give me some advice?
Okay, ladies first~

Name: Manah Bastia
Age: 15
Gender: female
Race: Hyur (Midlander)
Class Arcanist (later maybe Scholar)
Occupation: not yet decided
Traits: shy, calm, clever, determined, tidy

As I said their stories aren't fixed and toooooo detailed, because I need to gather more information. FFXIV is so complex and I don't want to mess around TOOO much with the canon stuff xD

So for Mana I thought she could be a 'Student of Baldesion', living on the Isle of Val and... you know... studying stuff xDD Unfotunately there isn't much information about this and Sharlayan. That's why this idea is so foggy. During the main story of FFXIV the island was destroyes by a powerful magic similar to Ultima. I can remember that Minfillia's friend survived so not everybody on this island died xD That's a good reason for Manah to travel. Since her 'home' is gone, she has to find a new place.
An old idea was, that she is the only daughter of a noble house, kept locked away, no friends blabla and then one day she escapes from that and travels xD But naaaaaah. That's crap.
But I had the idea, that she finds a special and old grimoire (maybe her grandfathers or something), but since he's dead, she can't ask him anymore. Maybe she could find some information about it in Val (I mean, it's the "city of scholarship" after all and they probably have information about EVERYTHING xD) but since the island sunk, she can't anymore. (So I think she found the grimoire right before the accident.) There still IS Sharlayan where she could stay and maybe gather some information, but I'm not sure about it, I need more information.
So for now she travels and finds her way to Limsa Lominsa and the Arcanist-Guild, where she hopes to find something. She also lives and works there, while she stays. And I want her to meet the Guildmaster (K'rhid Tia), who is never around in the guild. He doesn't emphasize social contacts and prefers to be alone with his studies. Being a skillful Arcanist (the Guildmaster duuhh) and highly intelligent, he knows how to (quote) "manipulate one's situation into the desired reality." So if he doesn't want to be found, he won't be found. Buuut I still want Manah to find him somehow hehe >w< (I bet she tries sooo hard and maybe almost succeeds...but he's just always one step ahead xD And he is a little impressed and admits that she has some kind of skills and agrees helping her. And then...who knows~ Maybe she'll stay~~
But also she could join the main gang and live in Mor Dhona and help them there. Maybe after she finds the truth about her grandfathers grimoire~

I like the ideas I have for her c: I wish I had more detailed information about the canon stuff. I'll start playing the story from the beginning with her and maybe get some more c: (I already forgot so much xD). When I make her a real sheet, the information will be added if necessary.

Oh yeah I almost forgot her best friend and companion: Her Emerald Carbuncle Ruby! Arcanists can summon two versions of carbuncles, Emerald (blue) and Topaz (yellow/gold). Emerald can cast spells and is the first summon, after a while and training an Arcanist can summon Topaz, a little stronger version who also can tank.
Ruby was Manah's very first spell when she started to study to become an Arcanist at young age. Ever since he's by her side. Summons can be dismissed when not needed, because they sap the users Aether (energy). But Manah never wanted to dismiss Ruby.

Age: 19
Gender: male
Race: Hyur (Garlean)
Class Machinist
Occupation: Machinist/Technician
Traits: A dick. (before the accident, hahaha sorry xD) confident, gregarious, accurate, still spoiled sometimes, dedicated, stubborn

It's a boooooooy! xD I need more male OCs... who look so cute like him, rawr~ *cough* *cough* Okay, I'm back xDD

I'm so looking forward to the expansion Heavensward! There will be new classes, including the Machinist! It's perfect for this pumpkin I had in mind for some time xD I wanted a mechanic who works for/with Cid and his Garlond Ironworks. But before that, some stuff happend~
So Logan is -despite his young age- a very skilled mechanic, working for the Garlean Empire. I'm thinking about making him a 'Native Garlean' like Cid, so he must have this 'third eye' they have on the forehead. (No, not like Tenshinhan xDD).
Highly esteemed for inventing and repairing military machines using their Magitek Technology, he was very boastful and... just a huge dick xDD He knew everything better, did everything better, never accepted help and did everything on his own. ("If you want to have it right, do it yourself!" or something xD)
Because of those successes he became careless and then... a big accident happend...
While working on a military machine he made a mistake. Others warned him, that it is very wrecked and not safe. They should do it together and be careful, but he just send them away, doing it alone. To reach a cord inside the machine, he had to put his whole left arm in it. Then suddenly this whole thing collapsed and crushed his arm. It also started burning, thus the alarm was activated and he was saved but unfortunately he lost his arm.
After that, his life changed. He fell into depression, because he couldn't do his passion. Also he wasn't usefull for the Military anymore, lost his job and also his repute. Since he was a huge dick before the accident, he didn't have any friends...... but one. (The Lalafell girl in the circle~ Still need to think about her more... xD) She knew him since they were children and she knew that he's actually a good person and now was the time he really needed help... and after a while really accepted it!
Eventually they had a great idea: Inventing a mechanic arm using the Magitek Technology! Nobody cared about him anymore, so it wasn't hard for him to get some materials and other stuff for the arm. But still it was a very hard task, because he had just one arm... His friend (Lalafell girl) had to help him very much and it took a lot of time and effort but they really did it! Together~ During this time he changed, became more friendly and also grateful. And now, he even had two arms again~
... but he didn't want to 'come back' to the Military. He realized that they just wanted him because of his work and he didn't want to support their doing anymore. So he decided to leave... and to find a certain person: His idol Cid Garlond. He heared rumors that Cid is still alive somewhere, so he wanted to find him and maybe work for him and his Ironworks. But it isn't that easy to leave, because of his high knowledge of Magitek and the Garlean Empire and Military. Together with his Lalafell friend he started a dangerous journey~

And eventually he finds Cid of course xD
I need to read more about the Garlean Empire and stuff, this is just a rough idea in my head. Maybe I'll change some stuff~
But I really like this arm thing *^* I didn't know how to draw a mechanic arm... xDD I looked at some Fullmetal Alchemist pictures but they didn't really help. When I make his sheet and draw him better, I'll also draw a new (and better) arm >w<
Oh and I gave him the original "Machinist" outfit from the new class~ I think it looks great on him c: There is only little information about the new class, but it's connected with Ishgard. I don't know how I'll connect THAT with my boy. I think I need to play the class and the story before deciding xD But at least I have some stuff for his past >w<

Yeah so these are my new babies I already loooove them <3 Looking forward doing their sheets and other pictures~
