I wanted to test how quickly I could render a concept.This took 3 hours. I probably need more practice.
The mugshot looks pretty iffy to me, but I can't tell what exactly is wrong with it.Β
As for the sprite, I personally think it could use improvement. It's a little too generic, and it should have more spirit to it.

Looks real good! The positioning is a bit edgy compared to the old NES games (as opposed to being a straight on portrait) But he seems like an edgy dude and I don't see a problem with it.Β

I just wanted to do something new. I wanted to challenge myself. If this is going to be about the third time I made a mugshot, I might as well make be a fresh take.Β
When I was younger, the first one I made was one called "Night Man" and it was made using the shape tools in MS Paint.
You need only guess how bad it was.Β
It was on an old computer. I don't even know where it is. I might upload it as a joke, should I find said computer and manage to access the hard drive, as the port on the side (the kind you plug into a monitor) fell out and was lost. I'm not kidding.Β
I understand now why they made the mugshots straight in the official games. For one, it's hard to do diagonal mugshots with such limited space and have it look as good.Β

come to think of it, i've done a fair bit of pixlin' in my time and it IS hard as hell to do things diagonally. Good job making it look so clean, keep up the good work!
