Why do I see a Fluttershy butt-shot doggy-stance in your "more from yanoda" section?

I know you said its for cs5 and up but do you know if it works with Cs4 cause thats what I use and its getting to the painstaking point where I have to put long triangle shapes on the ends of lines.

Unfortunately, CS4 doesn't have the stroke width tool or function. Hence why this tutorial is based for CS5 and up.

What you could try is to make brush versions of the strokes, but you will not be able to adjust the tapers. In this case, one needs to make many brushes for different stroke lengths and designs to apply for varying uses.

it would be useful... IF IT WAS ALSO ON ILLUSTRATOR C3! however i think there is something similar in my brushes folder but i don't use it often because i mostly make backgrounds.

You could convert the shapes into brushes but the adjusting the length of the stroke will not be possible. So you may have to make edits/adjustments with the fill path first, before converting it to a brush.

It may be a hassle, but certainly doable.

damn, i have a fave folder for both regular stuff (humans and tips/tricks) and mlp stuff regarding tutorials... not sure what to put this under

Well, this can be applied to any vector line art. I used Rarity since I'm most familiar with vectoring the MLP characters at the moment. (She will be in other future tutorials as well).

But, if you're unsure, you could always put the tutorial in both folders.
