Although I've seen the bits about coloring mentioned in other tutorials, I've found this series very helpful so far and I'm looking forward to seeing you continue with it! c:

Wow, this is JUST what I've needed for some time now For some reason I never thought of adding a new layer for each "area" of colours, I mostly just coloured everything on the same layer, except for markings
Well, the more you know~~

Yorialu In reply to RikVentures [2014-01-11 18:21:38 +0000 UTC]
Well I find it A LOT easier this way for shading purposes, but that's just me haha~ xD

RikVentures In reply to Yorialu [2014-01-11 18:30:03 +0000 UTC]
And I can see why! I hope it'll be easier for me this way, too

haha, I use a similar technique except, I select outside of the lineart and increase the selection by one pixel then invert it. I find it to be much faster than selecting parts inside the lineart and having to fill in all those nooks and crannies every time I decide to colour or shade a certain part of my art c:

I don't prefer coloring the whole body on one layer, it's not how I do things, though it may be easier xD

JEEZ I DIDNT KNOW SAI HAD AN INCREMENT TOOL THE HECK I THOUGHT I KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT SAI!!

Yorialu In reply to 16Shards [2014-01-03 21:05:34 +0000 UTC]
! xDDD
Well yes it does, but that's the only option, you can't change how much of an increment you'd like, sadly xD

Still, though, one pixel is better then none!

You can actually select those nooks and crannies with the same tool, using the Color Difference option and the Transp. diff slider you see there. Just adjust the slider in small amounts and select again until you are able to fill all those spaces.
Works wonders to paint sketches, too.

Yorialu In reply to FrostwindL [2014-01-03 21:04:02 +0000 UTC]

π: 0 β©: 1
FrostwindL In reply to Yorialu [2014-01-04 15:41:37 +0000 UTC]
yeah but on full shaded pic i dont use fill at all, i just slap the brush on again and again to build up the shade depth XD

Yorialu In reply to FrostwindL [2014-01-04 19:59:36 +0000 UTC]

And again, we use the same method, with slight differences but the same at the end XDΒ
Great tutorial.

Yorialu In reply to Raz-Zyrak [2014-01-03 07:45:45 +0000 UTC]
This is like, the MOST COMMON method, lol xD
Thanks uwu

Raz-Zyrak In reply to Yorialu [2014-01-03 07:46:50 +0000 UTC]
Not really, if it wasn't common you wouldn't make a tutorial for it. I know people who fills everything without a selection tool, I can't believe it.
