Personality:
In two words? ‘Eerily calm.’ Casper has the horrible tendency to keep all of his feelings bottled-up, the good and the bad. His expressions in front of people range from a calm frown to a slight smirk. He can be seen reading alone or engaging in a friendly chess match with Rulu, but the man simply will not make contact unless engaged first. When alone with pokemon, however, Casper opens up and reveals himself to be a young, fragile boy, slightly immature and striving for knowledge in any way he can. He’s worn from the battle of Coronet in more ways than one but is determined to keep moving forward—after all, that’s what she would want.

Backstory:
Casper was a young psychic twiddling his time away when Rith suddenly appeared into his life. The spunky trainer fresh from Twinleaf Town invited him to join her conquering of the league; after all, a psychic is good to have around. He hesitantly joined her but soon came to enjoy the adventure, growing closer and closer to the party members (including Rulu, Tannebaume, Murmur) and Rith herself. Luckily, the feeling was mutual. The ring on his finger is a testament to that.

The team eventually reached Mount Coronet, joining other trainers in the stopping of Cyrus and Dialga. After a terrifying battle, the conclusion was all but happy: the group was in shambles, Tannebaum lost an eye, and Casper lost his psychic powers due to prolonged exposure to the mountain’s unique magnetic field. His poor physique was being held previously by that psychic power; now, he requires outside help to simply walk outside.

After a year of getting used to his new condition, Casper began to challenge minor competitions, dominating with borrowed pokemon but never capturing his own. The medical bills kept piling up. . . . Now, Casper has traveled to the Ohana Islands, competing in the Battle Frontier with his eyes on the salary.

Strategy in Battle: He trusts the pokemon to do their job; after all, he’s not in the battle. Casper thus voices no commands, allowing the monsters to do what they must. If the pokemon wants to switch, they literally tap out—another will surely volunteer to continue the fight. Items are requested with the raise of a hand.

Communication: All of Casper’s party has been trained to understand human talk. Casper could understand pokemon when a psychic and has retained the ability partially; his ears are used to the sounds, especially those of Rith’s pokemon, and can thus understand the creatures akin to a second language. Therefore, pokemon can converse with the trainer, if with some difficulty. Vera would translate, as being the psychic of the party, but all of her focus is required on keeping Casper up.

Medical Condition: Not only does Casper have little-to-no-muscular strength (muscular dystrophy, if it must be named), requiring psychic interference to even get out of bed in the morning, but also a muscular contraction making his fingers' "normal" positioning be a rather strange V-shape . . .

Pokemon:
Rulu – Lucario, Male, Steadfast
Bone Rush | Aura Sphere | Dragon Pulse | Water Pulse
One of Rith’s pokemon; the right-hand man. The rock of the group, Rulu is content to pick-up any and all slack. He is known for slick remarks, his love for jazz music, and OH-KOs with a well-placed move. The Lucario is rarely in his pokeball, instead found by Casper’s side as an equal. He knows bits and pieces of Human and will sometimes converse shortly in order to flaunt the ability.
Appearance note: is a good foot taller than most other Lucarios (five feet, not just under four)

Tannebaume -- Roserade, Male, Poison Point
Leech Seed | Magical Leaf | Shadow Ball | Extrasensory
One of Rith’s pokemon; the left-hand man. A cheery romantic, Tann is a lover of gossip and the latest scoop. His solution to most problems involves flowers—after that, he leaves it to Rulu or Murmur. He is usually outside the pokeball but not necessarily hanging around boring Casper. Even in the heat of battle, his smile remains. Don’t let that fool you; he’s merely waiting for the poison to seep in.
Appearance note: has a scar over the left eye; the scar tissue makes it impossible to open

Murmur -- Staraptor, Female, Intimidate
Heat Wave | Aerial Ace | Steel Wing | U-Turn
One of Rith’s pokemon; the middle-man—erm, woman. Not that gender really matters to her. Famous for over-the-top sarcasm and a big-sister aura, Murmur (who really hates that name) is the only literate member of the team. She is fond of reading over Casper’s shoulder and napping either inside or outside the pokeball. Despite everything, though, she and her trainer are not on the best of terms for reasons neither will discuss.
Appearance note: the feathers reach all the way down to the foot instead of remaining bare; the team had spent so much time in Snowpoint that Murmur adapted

Vera -- Espeon, Female, Synchronize
Psychic | Dig | Grass Knot | Morning Sun
The psychic assigned by doctors. Young Vera remains by Casper’s side through a mix of sympathy and duty, expending her powers daily so that he can move freely. She itches for battle but is not allowed it; her trainer would only fall. And so, she silently remains.

Ludo -- Beartic, Female, Swift Swim
Yawn | Slash | Surf | Icicle Crash
Bought from a breeder; originally for easy transport. Blind from birth, the breeders constantly told Casper that he didn’t need to adopt the bear, but he reasoned that she was born for him, so he must take her. Ludo keeps rather silent, listening to the world usually with a content smile on her face. She helps however she can, traveling and battling ferociously through her keen sense of smell.
