Description
The third in a series of four promotional pieces. All share the same style/execution as I wanted to show my strengths in pure linework and high contrast lighting and my attention to detail. As with the previous two pieces in the series, no reference was used at all, I just let my imagination have a field day... so to be totally honest though I'm calling the dino the girl is riding on a plesiosaur, it's probably not terribly accurate insofar as rendering any dinosaur is truly accurate...

Probably more like one of the Pliosaurs, which had shorter necks, bigger heads... but then they had stubby tails, didn't they? Argh! Oh well. It's just a brain-splurge, it's got armor plating and a human female riding it ffs, who's gonna notice it's a bit squiffy? It's one that no one's discovered yet!

Anyway. The dino itself is called Bunty. I think it looks like a Bunty, don't you? The thing on the end of Bunty's nose isn't part of her, it's a Scuppering Muzzle... her rider (Capitão-de-Mar-e-Guerra Yara) can make her punch holes into the hull of a boat to sink it from below with the big metal horn.
Despite the fact Yara's riding a dinosaur (underwater), I wanted to avoid giving the scene a specific time period so she's kind of wearing stuff from all over the shop. I'm also seriously thinking about drawing up a bigger version of her tattoo for myself... I've always been a fan of blackwork but never had a design I liked enough to permanently emblazen upon myself...
