Description
Unaccepted commissioned painting from September 2012. Client was very excited about the piece but then later revealed to me to be "wholly underwhelmed" although I had no say in what I was painting and was directed to strictly follow his photo-shopped image. Lesson learned, run the show yourself.Oil on panel. 9" x 12". 2012.

Despite everything, it turned out really well. I haven't heard of anyone not accepting a commission before (though that is always a fear of mine). That is exactly why I have become pretty picky when people ask for commissions...sometimes you can tell right off the bat that they are going to be a difficult client. Also, while it is nice to have an outsiders opinion, a lot of times they don't have much knowledge about composition and such. Glad to hear you are still friends.
