Originally it was to be one of several Cherno type Jeagers build by Russia. However an incident occured during construction wich damage the jeager and construction halted, later cancelled. Egyptian govenment offer big sum of money for it, and Russians sold unfinished Jeager, with warning that even if Egypt finish it, it cannot use it against its enemies, only against Kaiju. Egypt finish the Jeager and put it in well guarded storage, naming it Desert Crawler. When war start bad for humans, and large number of Jeagers were build, Egypt offer Crawler to PPDC, but since PPDC concentrate its resources on building useless Kaiju wall, it remains storaged. In 2032 new kaiju invasion start's, and mankind was in great shortage of Jeagers who were no matter how outgunned and outmatched in some situation, only hope. Desert Crawler was send to newly build Edinburgh Shatterdome, and use it as base. During the first year of renewed war with Kaiju, Desert Crawler kills at least two type 3 Kaiju and one type 4. Because of its design it was usually deployed in groups of 3 to 4 jeagers, in wich Crawler would act as most heaviest and slowest unit. Later it was moved back to mediteran.
