I must admit I have not encountered Repin before, but I love Mussorgsky's music and both Repin's portrait of him and your reinterpretation. Great job! I need to go look at more of Repin's art now

Thanks! I did spend sometime reading about Repin yesterday and looking at his art. One writer called him the Loe Tolstoy, whom I adore, of the painting world. The painting that touched me most yesterday was his Volga Boatman. I don't know what it was but I must have gazed at it for 20 minutes!

Oh, Volga Boatman is absolutely incredible. He's done so many studies and sketches for this painting, it's very interesting to see his thought process. I need to write a post about it
