These are funny and cute comics, but it's also sad if you think about it. Gaster never had a normal childhood, so of course he wouldn't think about toys or simple caring techniques. It's a good thing Asgore is here to help him.

Naw I disagree, I think you gotta use your head to know what to do, how to do it, learn from mistakes etc. (if you're playing a game like cuphead) think about the story, strategize, etc etc, if you're playing a puzzle game... you know.

But by that logic, none of the baby toys we use are toys either. They are designed to simulate the baby mentally as well as physically. Letter blocks, puppets, that rotating arrow-thing that says "the cow goes 'moo'... all of those help the kid familiarize themselves with letters, words, names, etc.
