It's raw, sure. But it gives it a rough, almost feral look. Besides, I'm not to knowledgeable on these digital medias but I think you can clean anything you like up in post as you add/remove layers right?

Right. I was playing with the style you liked, but now looking at it, I feel I over did it. Yeah I can clean it up but I've had a lot of interest (not on DA) with a similar roughness with charcoal and inks, so I thought I'd play with it digitally. But those people aren't around for me to ask anymore, and you commented on how you liked the self portrait so thought I'd try again.
