Description
It takes me three days to scale a mountainA week, perhaps, to trek the forest beyond it
Brawls between me and my fear of heights
As I rappel down a rocky cliff edge
It would take me half a month to journey Death Valley
And the other half spent hiking temperate forests
The north comes with the gift of snow
At last my snowshoes become of use
I could go through so much
As long as I knew you were waiting for me at the end
Waiting
I can only do so much before my hope fades
The snow seems to get deeper
It gets harder to see the sky
Every time I gaze at the forest canopy
I cannot see an end to the sand
That Death Valley offers me, over
and over again
I come face to face with a wall of rock
To the top I stare, to the top
I can't go on anymore
The pain that I would have felt, comes
Crashing down upon me, an ocean wrapped in a wave
And I'm a grain of sand on the shore where it hits
My mind is swept away, my hope dies
Lost in a sea, injured in its violent onslaught
I've gotten so far, come from so far
My hand reaches out, and I can only hope that
I can grasp your hand, have my fingers wrapped by yours
I need you to save me

I love this poem.
...And yeah. I'll be there.
(P.S. love your other poem, Shamisen.)
