Description Full Name: Marcilon
Age: 33
Height: 5' 11''
Weight: 150 lbs

Backstory: (IT'S A LONG ONE)

Marci grew up in paradise. Or what many would consider paradise...a sunny, tropical island on Irk, famous for its good food, awesome surfing spots, and 5-star resorts.

What it was less famous for was its business-oriented mafia. As a pre-teen, Marci started making friends in the wrong places...did some odd jobs for thugs on the street, (deliveries, passing messages, and scouting around for information on local businesses) and proved good at them...and at not getting caught. He learned that being professional and having a controlled demeanor got him higher-paying jobs.

At age 17, that control was really put to the test when he and and an associate were paid and taken out on a 'secret mission'...the task of dumping a body into the ocean in the middle of the night. Which Marci didn't find out was the job until he was out on the boat in the middle of the ocean with a couple of gang members and no alternatives. After the initial shock, he went along with it, and had his first real taste of how cutthroat organized crime could be.

It might have been a test for him, organized by some higher power up the ranks. If it was, he passed, and the next thing he knew, he was offered a permanent position in the island's primary mafia organization. The pay and opportunities were good, and he didn't feel like he could go back to being a 'normal' civilian after the body dump, so he accepted. After a rough hazing process, he settled into his position fairly well. He didn't stay in the lowly position of soldier for long; as an associate, he had already proven his usefulness. After a couple of years of successful jobs and a continued stable head, he was given the rank of caporegime at an unusually young age...a captain over a group of soldiers. He proved adept at handling money, and making business details. Everything was going well, and his ambition grew, setting his sights on climbing the ranks all the way to the top of the island...but that changed abruptly at age 22.

The island mafia's parent division in the capital city of Irk had recently lost a high-ranking employee during a shootout. Upon checking on things in the island mafia, the main division learned of Marci's efficient reputation and decided he would be a good fit for the empty position. He was reluctant to accept, but ultimately there was no arguing with them. He was shipped off on the long journey away from his island home and moved to the thriving center of the capital city. The new city, change of pace, and vastly different coworkers (along with a very scary boss) was a struggle to adapt to....but adapt he did, like he always had.

The next 8 years solidified him into a tried-and-true mafia head. He was flexible as well, just as suited to the occasional grunt work as he was being a partial consigliere (an adviser to the top boss), solving problems and avoiding the bullets and jail time that came with failure. His city-based organization was large...large enough to pull off dealings with influential corporations. He was taken off grunt work and put full-time to the task of working with hospitals and pharmaceutical companies...convincing them to make 'donations' or give the organization materials useful for manufacturing illegal drugs and substances.

And then, he got careless.

Life was good. His job was good. Business deals were a cakewalk. He got a project to convince yet another chemist at the nearby hospital to manufacture some useful raw ingredients for the organization. The chemist turned out to be a full-time doctor named Fibra with an interesting history. Oh, he was good looking, too. Whatever. Oh, he was intelligent and had a charming social awkwardness and naivete...Gradually, the project got more difficult for Marci, and over the months, he caught himself falling for this doctor, and Fibra fell hard for him right back, an odd sensation he'd never felt before...not deeply. Eventually, Marci stopped struggling against it, and instead tried to meld it in with his normal life...difficult, because he couldn't exactly let his significant other know what was behind their working relationship.

Marci managed to keep everything under control for about half a year. Then his boss decided Fibra was useful enough to have as a more...full-time contributor to the mafia, whether the doctor wanted this or not. Marci knew the doctor would never stand for this; he was too good-hearted, too altruistic to stoop so low as to be a drug-maker for a seedy organization, and his stubbornness would get him in a lot of trouble with Marci's unforgiving boss and coworkers. So tried hard to put off the decision...to convince his superior that Fibra was a bad investment choice. These attempts didn't work for long.

During a very bad night of events during which Fibra suffered permanent damage at the organization's hands---[[SPOILERS REDACTED]]

Ultimately, Marci's relationship with Fibra crumbled due to his own actions. And only a day after things broke up, while Marci was thinking he still had a chance to fix things....Fibra died. A pirate raid put the hospital under an unexpected lockdown. The invaders were there to free some of their cohorts, who had been taken to the hospital for injury recovery before they would be transferred to a prison. And Fibra got caught in the middle of it, taken hostage by the captain of the group. Within a couple of hours of finding out about this hostage situation, Marci raced to the hospital...only to discover his boyfriend had been murdered by the raiders before a release could be negotiated.

For the first time in his life, Marci broke. And he broke hard. The quality of his work plummeted. He turned to alcohol. He became listless and antisocial, and those in the organization who sought his power or humiliation wasted no time in crowing about his failures. But this didn't last long.

After a while of being an utter basket case, Marci decided he was done. He couldn't be in this business any longer...but there was only one way to quit this sort of business, and that was on the receiving end of a pistol. He didn't care, though...he was ready.

The mob boss thought otherwise, though. She knew it was a waste to kill him. So she spared him...on a couple of conditions. He had to have his pak wiped of all mob-related data...which was pretty much his whole life, and had it replaced with fake history data of perfectly normal jobs and experiences. And in return, he couldn't ever rejoin the mob at any location, and if he revealed secret information or ratted anyone out, he would be hunted down and brutally murdered.

These were fair terms to him, and he agreed, and his new life began. Finding a new job was a pain, but eventually he found a management position in a big-time music company. He wasn't at the job for long before HIS manager came to him in exasperation. The pop star, Marron, the studio's main singer, had fired yet another manager, the picky little brat. The manager suggested Marci, mild-mannered as he was, go to apply for the open position.

Marci gave it a doubtful shot...and ended up clicking with the pop star, and he attained a job just as chaotic and busy as his past mob jobs had been. But it suited him, and he is enjoying life now as it is, running around and keeping track of Marron's busy schedule.

Maybe some day he'll even find out the truth about his dead boyfriend.

I almost had to take a double take at the whole dead-fibra part—
But then I kinda remembered how we know the present, and fibra is obviously there.
JEEZ ZERNA, YOU CAN'T KEEP DOING THAT WITH YOUR AMAZING STORY SKILLS, I DON'T THINK MY HEART CAN TAKE IT

So, since Fibra seemed dead when Marci was planning to apologize, is Fibra still pissed to this day about everything leading to the breakup? Or did he get over it? :0 I have so many questions!! Argg

I WILL AT LEAST SAY

Yes Fibra is still angry at him to this day, and would feel very bitter and conflicted about everything if he met him today

It is finally here.

I didn't know Marci had so much history behind him. But then again that can be said about a lot of characters. And, I'm curious as to how Marci's gonna react when he finds out that Fibra is alive, as well as still angry with him.
