Description LIVER
Brown, or liver, is a recessive gene, only expressed when it's homozygous recessive -- bb. This gene only affects black hairs and dilutes them to a brown or red-brown color. Liver also dilutes the skin color, best shown on the nose, and makes it a pale brown or pink-brown color. The eyes tend to be a lighter, a more golden or hazel color than usual.

BLUE
Dilute, or blue, is a recessive gene, only expressed when it's homozygous recessive -- dd. This gene only affects black hairs and dilutes them to a faded black to a medium shade of gray. Blue dilutes the skin color slightly, but it is most noticeable on the nose, where it may appear to be a lighter shade of black or darker gray. The eyes tend to be lighter, a more golden or hazel color than usual.

LILAC
Lilac is a double dilution of black, resulting from both liver and blue (bb dd) dilutions in the same animal. The coat lightens to a pale gray-brown sort of color. The nose is similarly colored or lighter, and the eyes are almost always a golden or hazel color.

A NOTE ABOUT VISUAL GUIDES
Zhoruka visual guides offer general guidelines for colors, patterns, placement of markings, and extension of markings. They are not set in stone, hard rules, but they are fairly true to our design expectations. You are not required to color pick from gradients; they are meant as a starting point for those who may not know what colors to use.
