Just a zombie-like infected mutation tree based on the infected caused by an unknown zombie-like virus that turns humans and animals into flesh-eating things that will eventually mutate over time and maybe even assimilateinto other infected forms to mutate into bigger forms. Even the environment will get infected by the virus.
How humans can get infected:
Via bite or scratch by humans, animals, or mutant forms
Via penetration of skin by tentacles or spikes
Via acid spit or contact with infected fluids
