Yeah... i had a puppy named Otto [who is now living with my dad in Arizona D:] and he shitted everywhere BUT the puppy pad...and now i have a kitten who shits on my carpet D:

Aww....well, at least you don't ahve a rabbit who sits on furniture JUST to pee on it. pee is WAAAAY worse than shit, beleive me! *chuckle*
i LOVE cats though. i kinda have one...besides pissing on furniture, i swear my rabbit thinks he's a cat. sometimes he gets stuck up and ignores you, some times he's too curious for his own good (this guy was replacing our window for us, and my rabbit comes up behind him and puts his paws on the guys leg. there's no way you can hear a rabbit walk. the guy freaked so bad...XD but i didn't want the window to break) and sometimes he's nice. but he runs away all the time. and then shows up back at the house.
yes, i have a rabbit who's almost NEVER in his hutch, runs around the deck, and bites you when you talk about eating meat.

he used to be in the house. he's SUPPOSED to go in a LITTER BOX. *glares hintingly at rabbit*
but, he leaves li'le round love pellets in his wake when he's pissed.
but when he's being good...it amazes me! no training! and he's a rabbit. XD
he always trys to sneak into the house past the 'rabbit room'. he literally sits really still for a while, and you can tell he's plotting something, and then he'll hop off. he's tried sneaking around the back of the couch, walking slowly up to you and then trying to dash past, and even jumping onto the couch, and then out into the hall from the back of the couch.

haha, that's a clever rabbit! well, my cat used to be really sweet and cute, but now it's a crazy ass mofo!!! it'll attack you when you least expect it... and when you go to the bathroom it starts swiping it's paws under the crackof the door to get your attention... and when you try to run away from it it starts chasing you. what a lame cat, haha

I dunno if you're already doing so, but I think they sell some type of special kitten litter. It's supposedly different than regular adult cat litter cuz it has a strong scent so they can smell it better, and it like... lures them in and whatnot.
