Midnight LightI've not yet found anything quite as soothing as that. Lightning crashing all about me and only a slight bit of rain. I could hear the thunder echoing through the canyon just behind me... just wow. And then as I'm leaving where I took the photos from lightning strikes and the power goes out everywhere, that too, was a pretty cool experience.

maybe. but i think most lighting pics are cool however they look, well mainly actual real photos, not like drawings, hehe..

Most of that is in the post, brings out the colors in the clouds and creates a much more interesting image... at least, I think so.

This is very intense! The purple-ish color is awesome and adds a lot.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was: Hey, I remember the time when I was on an airplane and there were lightning bolts all over the place. Since we were above the clouds, we got a very nice close-up! It was an amazing experience.
And well, your photo reminds me of it. Thanks for uploading it. <3

Yeah, I really enjoy taking pictures of lightning. When you're out there in it, it's just awesome, then you get to take that home and think to yourself, "Wow... I'm an idiot. I should NOT stand that close." and you just get out there and do it again. Long shutter speed, low focal aprature. Takes in a lot of light for a long time, allowing me to not try and time my shutter with the lightning
