Those of you more familiar with the 2010 Seacons reissues than the original 1988 toys may not realize that Overbite was originally supposed to be a deep purple color, not the magenta shared with Snaptrap.

I'm reasonably confident this is how Overbite's weapon mode was colored in the 1988 Seacons toy commercial. Believe it or not, I studied the animated footage exhaustively to make these color models as accurate as possible. (Note that Overbite was colored much more accurately in Super God Masterforce when he appeared as King Poseidon's handheld weapon.)

I added some purple to the top of his robot helmet because I liked the way it mirrored the purple dorsal fin for his shark mode. No, it doesn't make a lot of sense, and doesn't match his Hasbro toy—but hey, when did that ever stop Phyllis Craig?

Huge bonus points if you actually know who that is.
