Description ...you thought I was done hurting my kids?
Nope. Never

REMEMBERRR we are in March 2018 here. If you are LOST and need context, you can find the storyline from start to finish HERE:  The Zdarloch Storylines   (we are in Season 4)

Previously:

Sometimes a change of air was all it took to change one's outlook - the coming of spring, for instance. Though the cold still lingered, the date now officially wrote 'March' and sometimes this mere changing in season was all it took for things to look clearer, brighter, better.... but not this time. This time, Simon reckoned, it was equally accredited to external factors such as 'the professional help' he had promised Frederik he would be seeking out. Going back to therapy had not been half the declaration of defeat he had feared it might be, rather he regretted not going sooner before things spun so wildly out of control. Assuming someone trained a squirrel to poison him was, perhaps, bordering on the psychotic...

A kind of truce had formed at Zdarloch - one of peaceful co-existence. There was less whispering in the corners and Simon focused only on the things he was employed to do: teach and train. He and Sagadir appeared to have found a kindred spirit in one another. Things were going well with the young grey stallion and their six months of partnership was about to be put to the test. They were signed up for the RDHS Cup in the Netherlands later this month - this would not only be their first competition as a team, it would also be Sagadir's Grand Prix debut. Simon was well aware of the pressure that rested on him to perform - anyone who knew about Sagadir would be comparing the horse's new rider to his old one. Any fault or flaw, no matter how unreasonable, would be studied meticulously and accredited to said rider personally. Connor Goldenweiser - or Gideon - was a tough pair of boots to fit into even without that kind of pressure to adhere to. But Simon had always thrived under pressure. If he had listened to half the things people had told him he could not do, well, he would still be a small-town kid with big hopes and dreams and no means to ever fulfill them. No thank you.

At Stridsholt things were as they had always been. Spiegelau was finally starting to get back into shape after his recent injury and it almost appeared as if the gelding only got better and better as he aged, like a fine wine. The thought had crossed Simon that the accumulation of injuries this year was a warning that Spiegelau might not last in sport at this level that much longer, but today he was less sure. The red gelding was on fire and Simon could not help but smile to himself as he let the horse cool down in walk on a long rein.
,,He seems ready to show again soon," Shabnam remarked as she and her dark gelding Fake Crime fell into stride beside them. Simon gave a curt nod, satisfied to know that others had noticed it too.
,,That's the plan," he agreed. ,,I have half a mind to try and qualify him for this year's AUSE. Inshallah."
,,Inshallah," Shabnam agreed.
Simon was about to elaborate on his plans when he noticed movement on his right. Sven was picking a blanket from off the barrier and appeared to---oh no--
,,Don't--"
Sven shook the blanket to get the dust off, but the sharp snapping sound and sudden movement caught half-blind Spiegelau by surprise. The gelding lurched sideways, barging into Fake Crime on his right before spinning around and lurching the other way. Simon was on the ground before he knew it, air knocked from his lungs... then gradually he became aware of a sharp, stinging pain from somewhere within his chest. He remained in place, juuuust needing to catch his breath. For some reason this proved harder than one would think. He had had his share of falls over the years, sure - but it had been years, and it had never felt like this.

,,Gee Simon, I'm really sorry! You okay?"
Sven's voice, somewhere above him. Somehow Simon managed to find the air to hiss back:
,,You fucking idiot, Sven."
,,Sven, take Spieg and go away."
Steinadler's matter-of-factly voice rose over him and he felt a paradoxical mixture of relief and distress to hear it. Relief because at least it meant he was in good hands... distress because Steinadler was the last person he would want to appear weak to. He forced a smile on:
,,I'm okay. I just need to--"
He made an effort to sit up, only to be shoved back down. She had actually put her foot on him?! He would have protested indignantly at this disrespect were it not for the sudden sharp worsening of pain he felt and his protest became a half-choked sound of pain instead.
,,You stay right there, Kvark," Stein said curtly. ,,Spieg stepped on you. You have to go to the ER."

She already had her phone to the ear, but Simon had stopped listening. Instead he wondered oddly to himself how this might affect his ability to ride the RDHS Cup - only secondly whether this was serious or not.

Next: 4.14: Garden of Eden

So, the RDHS Cup referred to in the story is the one from 2018... and maybe a few of the old stalkers remember that Simon was injured at at that event. Here's the long-awaited context for that :' D
We shall see how serious it isssss ~

Who remembers Shabnam and Sven, btw?

They are side characters at Stridsholt, entirely plot-irrelevant at this point. But here they are. By coincidence I picked all the characters with S names in one pic, lololol.

Seriously.
“You just got stepped on by a horse, let me make sure you stay down by doing the same” yeah I’m sure that will benefit any injures. 😐
Come on man! How come no one has a spec of compassion here. This is NOT how you treat someone in pain or injured!

Sorry got a bit carried away there. 😅
I REALLY wish I could jump into the story sometimes and help somehow. I don’t care who they are, no one deserves to be in pain.
