Description
Upon making any character you can grab two of three automatic clan mutations or none at all! (Keep in mind only by being born in said clan/having that clan's heritage can these auto mutations be claimed. You may claim up to two of the auto mutations, no more, but you can do less.)
WINDCLAN MUTATIONS
Saber Fangs
Rather self-explanatory, the canines of Windclan cats have the potential to grow up to three inches (7.62 cm) in length. Incredibly sharp and strong, these fangs are hard to break and have become a staple of many of the clan's finest hunters. This mutation displays early-on, just a moon or so after a kit's primary teeth begin to poke out and the teething process begins.
Feathers
Perhaps the most common mutation in the clan, Windclan cats tend to sprout feathers around the upper portion of their body and lower spines. These feathers often reflect those of common songbirds, birds of prey, and corvids. Feathers can also take on the same hue of a cat's main pelt colors. They are very much incapable of sustaining flight, but are excellent for displays of dominance and impressing others. Like mentioned, Windclan's feathers take on more rustic/diluted colors to match the territory, and so CANNOT be bright colors or odd shapes as found in birds of paradise or other exotics such as budgies or parrots. [This requires a ban.] This mutation does not develop until six moons at the earliest, with the mutation more likely to show itself around a cat's eighth or ninth moon. Upon revealing the feathers, apprentices have the horrible "puberty" moons of itchy pin feathers and shedding down-feathers all over the place. Besides that, cats with this mutations will go through Molting Season, which is usually around the beginning of summer.
Killing Claw
The deadliest part of a Windclan cat's potential arsenal, these additions are solid bone and sheathed in serrated keratin. The largest recorded claw was over 5 inches (12.7 cm) in length, but most cats will have a claw closer to 4 inches (10.16 cm). Slightly dexterous, these claws can be set backwards to prevent them from becoming dull on the ground and can be brought back down as if activated by a spring mechanism. These mutations are also clear at birth, as a kit will have the extra "toe" on their back legs. This claw is extremely soft to prevent hurting the mother, but will harden within a week of birth and will sharpen after that.
