Personality:
Raised to be polite, Rin tries her best to avoid unpleasantness whenever possible. However, she is not a woman of many words, and has a tendency to keep to herself. It's not that she doesn't like people, per say, but she's actually very shy, albeit dedicated to her job. She has no problem speaking with Masayuki or her troops by any means, but rather gets flustered with personal relationships as well as the idea of romance. She's not against it, of course, but she becomes flustered and blushes at the mere mention of anything lewd or if she realizes she's being ogled. She's incredibly awkward outside of the context of her job due to her somewhat serious and shy nature.
Rin is extremely humble and tries not to start fights she cannot finish, though makes exceptions for Sanada due to her loyalty towards the clan. She understands that she's strong and knows how to lead troops, but will never say that she's the best. She'll always find something about herself to pick on - her stance could be better, she's too tall, she could have found a better angle in her strike, she could have packed more power into the swing of her sword. She always sees room for improvement in herself and others, but tries to think of the kindest way possible in which to say it. When irritated, however, she let's some of that innate politeness slip and grows a bit blunt, but nothing that would ever leave someone in tears. She knows it would probably help to stay blunt more of the time, but it's just not in her nature to. And besides, she doesn't have much to say most days anyway, so it's easier to show what she means through actions rather than words that won't make sense.
Backstory:
On March 8th, 1547, Rin was born to Unno Katsuzo and his wife, Akayo. The Unno had been retainers for the Sanada for some time, and as such, Katsuzo was a trusted advisor to Sanada Yukitaka. Though initially raised to become a lady to be married off like her mother, it was found early on that Rin had a knack for fighting - specifically, she proved to be exceptionally strong for a woman. Instead, her father allowed Rin to train with both of her older brothers in order to serve the Sanada someday. It helped that Rin was not built similarly to other women, but rather was quite tall and preferred fighting and training to learning the correct ways to wear a furisode, anyway. Though she is polite and still feminine, regardless, she doesn't really seem to quite fit in with other women due to her talent and interests lying elsewhere.
And serve the Sanada someday she did. Though it came with struggles - as comes with being a woman in an area that idolized following tradition - Rin eventually moved up through the ranks, but not before landing herself in the midst of a war between Takeda Shingen and Uesegi Kenshin, the Sanada being vassals themselves to the Takeda. In 1561, she took part in the 4th Battle of Kawanakajima alongside the Sanada, aiding them at only 14 years old. Though not a page to Masayuki himself, she does aid in the fight, cutting down calvalry with her Zanbato. Unfortunately, Sanada Nobutsuna is killed in battle. It was one of her first battles, and while the sheer amount of death is shocking to her, it serves as a reminder rather than breaking her. She let's Nobutsuna's death fuel her to work harder to protect and aid her lord and their clan.

After Sanada Yukitaka's death in 1568, Rin joins Sanada Masayuki in the Battle of Mimasetōge, aiding the Takeda once again - though this time, against the Hôjô. Though she's moved up and proven her worth, she again finds herself cutting down calvalry with her Zambato on the front lines. While they made progress, after watching Sanada Masateru's untimely death in battle, she calls for Masayuki to retreat and return home. In his first act as Daimyo, he promotes her to General for a timely escape as well as proving herself useful in the previous battles.

In the five years since becoming General, Rin has lead the Sanada's troops, she's struggled and overcame some barriers. When initially promoted, Sanada's troops didn't appreciate being lead by a woman - until learning she can outdrink the vast majority of them, and that she'll gift them with liquor when they do well in battle. It took some getting used to, but she's proven herself enough to them by this point that it isn't much of a hassle anymore. In the current year, Rin joins Masayuki in his aid with the Takeda against the Oda and Tokugawa in the Battle of Mikatagahara.
