FFF I don't think you failed horribly. I love how you used the blue in the shading. Keep trying this technique out and practicing with it, 'cause eventually you can make some BEAUTIFUL pieces with coloring like this. I also encourage you to try some lineless thingies. Like you can start out with line art, but then erase it afterwards, if you want.
