Well I understand why there is majority of mermaid Lance works, because it's canon he is water element, he said famous line:"I don't need legs I'm a mermaid' and Hunk said that lance has obsession with mermaids. So it's not surprise, still it is nice and interesting concept to see him with wings too because bird who is impressed by sea is really nice concept!
